About the Author
Brendan is a British freelance writer based in British Columbia, Canada. He first went to Cuba on a whim in 1997 and returned, equally serendipitously, five years later to work as a travel guide. In 2006 he researched and wrote the 4th edition of Lonely Planet's Cuba guide with his wife and three-month-old son in tow. The following year he went back to research for Lonely Planet's Havana guide. When not in Cuba, Brendan likes to run across deserts, play flamenco guitar and hang out with his three-year-old son, Kieran.

Un peu trop anglo-saxon dans sa philosophie, ses centres d'intérêts son rapport au monde donc...infos de qualité mais comme souvent les auteurs ont peut être un peu de difficulté à cerner une culture si étrangère... il faudrait un auteur hispanophone à mon avis et, plus généralement, du cru sur chaque guide pour gravir cette marche supplémentaire qui en fasse un guide moins mondialiste sauce globish... Mais, du travail tout de même...

This book was very helpful for a recent trip to Cuba. Good fold out map of Havana and the whole country. Gives good information on places to go. Like it because it is small enough to carry around easily.

Although fairly comprehensive, the book is obviously written by non-American authors. Every possible dig that this Brit and Canadian can make on Americans who venture into Cuba is there. We get it already. Accept that the average American who is fortunate enough to make it through the red tape to get here is open to the experience and did not create or help to maintain the current embargo between the countries and save the space in the book for useful information.It would also have been nice to have a few more maps or photos in the book itself. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful
