5.0 out of 5 stars The guide for backpackers, Dec 12 2010
By Nacho Plaza - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Lonely Planet Eastern Europe 10th Ed.: 10th edition (Paperback)
I bought this guide for 2010 summer holidays (2009 edition). I visited Bulgaria, Romania, Ucrania, Hungary and Poland, a backpacking travel. I found it very useful, but like in other Lonely planet Guides there is always a bit of outdated information. For example, in Bucharest there is a hostel listed on the guide wich was closed 2 years ago.

There is plenty of information on cheap hostels, nice places to eat and transportation information was clear and useful.

If you plan to visit these countries, this guide is THE GUIDE.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wouldn't use again, Jun 23 2011

I took this book and the Rick Steves' Eastern Europe book when I went to Prague, Vienna, Slovenia and Croatia in March. The Lonely Planet book was so inferior, we left it behind at a hotel because it wasn't worth it to keep carrying it around. The advice was subpar and there wasn't even a section on Plitvice Natioal Park in Croatia. Each country was written by a different author and there was no continuity. I'm done buying Lonely Planet guide books.
