Its a decent book that gives new travelers what they should expect and how they should prepare. A lot of whats in this book is pretty much commonsense, although it does have a few tidbits I would not have thought before most of the advice is pretty standard. Keep small denominations, watch out for scams, keep important stuff on person/carry on. A lot of the information seemed very basic to me but I can see how it can be very helpful to people who rarely ever travel outside the country. Decent book not for the experienced.

I bought this little guide as a gift for a friend who hasn't traveled outside North America. She loves it, and I noticed there were some really good tips in there! Good service! All set for our trip!

This is an interesting little book (it is small enough to be taken in one's carry-on, with a convenient hole in the top of the book for a luggage strap). It covers a wide variety of travel topics, suggestions, tips and warnings. However, it is written with the UK traveller in mind and is about four years old since its last publish date. For a basic planning book, it is OK.
