Not a bad series but pales in comparison to the Long Way Round DVD series. There was a lot less riding and a lot more focus on the Unicef campaigns. Also, the support crew was with them the whole time so it was really an "Adventure Ride" but more of a vehicle-supported trip. It's unfortunate that Claudio didn't get any airtime either because he was one of the funnier elements from the first series.

I first fell in love with the "Long Way Round" series which naturally led me to the "Long Way Down" series. This series tells some amazing stories and is quite inspirational, as was the first series. This series differs slightly in production value from the first. The vehicles are heavily sponsored and tagged, they stray from their driven route and make a few flights to remote locations, the dynamic between Charley and Ewan is slightly different and is most noticeable when they part ways and each take a different route for a short while. This series doesn't have the same raw feel that first series had but it still tells an amazing story and tells it very well. Very fun to watch and very inspirational.

Long Way Down
A super insight into the many countries and cultures of Africa. Educational as well as entertaining. I can really appreciate the discomforts they went through.
