5.0 out of 5 stars sharp dialog matches loopy comedic premises, July 28 2009

This shortlived Fox sitcom deserved better. The writing is sharp and the actors pull the snappy dialogue off with bells on. The actor (Philip Baker Hall) playing the head of the fictional TransAlliance Airways steals the show with the bizarre tangents and obtuse WWII slang that sounds almost like rap.

Seriously funny as even the bit parts are played superbly from the overqualified secretary Darcy (Joy Osmanski) to the roommate bro' Sully (Eric Christian Olsen) and his schemes to make money.

Throw in cougariffic Mimi Rogers as the sexually forward airline exec Meryl and Sam's incredibly cute and goofy roommate Lizzy (Sarah Wright) and the eye candy is pretty good, too.

Having not mentioned the main character Sam (Bret Harrison of "Reaper" fame) so far is odd but really he is just the Jerry around which the Elaines, Georges and Kramers can do their stuff around.

The interview clips with actors and producers on the DVD extras are pretty decent.

Lastly, you will fall in love with the theme song and will never look at a zip line and a falafel cart again in the same way after viewing one of the better episodes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart and Funny, Mar 6 2007

This was one of our favorite shows and will be again as soon as Fox brings it back for Season 2!! Based in Chicago, "Thesis" (as his boss calls him) gets a job in upper management for an airline company right out of college (thanks to his thesis work)... he tries to be responsible, but things somehow always go awry... his friends have a few screws loose, his co-worker (an older woman) is constantly making advances toward him, and his boss... well, I guess you'll have to watch for yourself, because can't come up with a good way to describe him! Overall, this is a very smart and very funny fresh new comedy and definitely worth the money for the entire first season! I just checked the Fox website and Season 2 begins June 10th... I can't wait!

4.0 out of 5 stars OK, I'm ready for Season Two now!, Aug 12 2008

I watched "The Loop" when it was originally on the air and I was really happy when they brought it back for a second season. I just hope that this first season DVD sells well enough that they'll release the second season too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loop this one in before it's gone!, April 3 2007

There aren't many well-scripted sitcoms on TV today, and The Loop is one of them. Not because it's not well-scripted, but because it's not on TV! Such a travesty. The Loop is one of the best television sitcoms to come around since Friends or Will & Grace. It's smart, edgy, and doesn't dumb down its comedy for viewers that would be better off watching goofy shows like According to Jim or reruns of Full House. I was fortunate enough to catch The Loop on Fox last year when it was on, and immediately purchased this DVD collection to re-watch and laugh along with the cast. I can't wait until Season Two comes out on TV in June, but I'm sad to think that nobody will catch it (or find it, for that matter) and that that will be the end of a truly fantastic sitcom written and acted by people who care about making their audience laugh out loud.
