sharp dialog matches loopy comedic premises, July 28 2009
This review is from: Loop S1 (DVD)
This shortlived Fox sitcom deserved better. The writing is sharp and the actors pull the snappy dialogue off with bells on. The actor (Philip Baker Hall) playing the head of the fictional TransAlliance Airways steals the show with the bizarre tangents and obtuse WWII slang that sounds almost like rap.
Seriously funny as even the bit parts are played superbly from the overqualified secretary Darcy (Joy Osmanski) to the roommate bro' Sully (Eric Christian Olsen) and his schemes to make money.
Throw in cougariffic Mimi Rogers as the sexually forward airline exec Meryl and Sam's incredibly cute and goofy roommate Lizzy (Sarah Wright) and the eye candy is pretty good, too.
Having not mentioned the main character Sam (Bret Harrison of "Reaper" fame) so far is odd but really he is just the Jerry around which the Elaines, Georges and Kramers can do their stuff around.
The interview clips with actors and producers on the DVD extras are pretty decent.
Lastly, you will fall in love with the theme song and will never look at a zip line and a falafel cart again in the same way after viewing one of the better episodes.
