Great Lake Swimmers takes on a more fluid departure in their fourth CD. Whereas Ongiara sounded like an echo reverberating into all parts of the soul, Lost Channels sounds like music you can turn up a bit louder on your stereo system. It's not something that's meant to be played quietly by yourself on an introspective adventure only. It's a journey meant to be shared, and thus its sound is a little bit more appealing for the masses in my opinion. It still is a great album, but it doesn't leave you as fragile as listening to Ongiara.
All in all, another great leap forward for Great Lake Swimmers. Can't wait to listen to their next album!!
