During the voyage, Daisy and Pinto learn from a marrow who is swimming along side the ferry disguised as a seal, that Badaner, the Prince of Fairy Land, who almost ten years earlier and when only a few days old, was stolen from the royal household, is on the ferry; being smuggled into Ireland by his captors, an evil witch and her daughter. The Prince will be ten years old on Sunday, just two days away; if he has not received his Protection Spell by the last stroke of midnight on the Eve of his birthday, he will lose any inherited magic abilities and will become a pawn to the evil clans of The Unseelie Court ...
