Nice collection of movie stills,
By
This review is from: Lost in Translation (Audio CD)
This book version of the soundtrack album, of which only 2,000 were made, consists of numerous stills from the movie, along with limited narration and pieces of dialogue. No additional information is provided, e.g., comments from the cast or crew, which leaves this really as a work of art in its own right rather than as some sort of supplement. The fact that some of the dialogue differs from that in the film (and that at least one scene is present in the book that we don't see on screen) makes this even more true. (It looks as if this book was prepared using the footage before it was edited?)If you loved this movie like I did, pick this up if you can find it!

Lost in Translation is my favorite movie and I love the soundtrack. This edition is made for the fans (or big soundtrack collectors).I loved the pictures of the movie and the bits of the sript along with it. Who works in cinema or know a little bit about its process knows that the script can change along th shooting of the film. Here we have some examples of it, as some of the script bits wrote in this edition are different from those that ended up in the actual movie. And we see that the final ones were much better. The book comes in a hard cover and has good printing quality. The pictures are stills from the movie, although I believe some of them are actually printscreens. As I said, great treat for fans of this beautiful film. And great soundtrack. |
