3.0 out of 5 stars Warning: Explicit Sex Scenes Aug. 2 2011

This would have been such a good book if the author had left out the explicit sex scenes. Maybe others enjoyed it, but it is not a book I can keep on my Kindle. Too bad.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read Sept. 20 2011
By Maryann Miller - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In this traditional sensual romance the reader meets Dr. Paige Conrad, who has come to the small town where she was raised to help the local doctor, who is recovering from a stroke.Clay Reynolds had come back some years ago following an accident that robbed him of his memory of the first 25 years of his life. Of course, circumstances keep tossing them together, even though both have decided that they do not need the complications of a relationship at this point in their lives.

That story set-up us pretty standard stuff for a romance novel, but it was all handled with strong narrative flow and some really good dialogue. One of the elements in the book that I liked most was the characterization of Paige. On some levels she was so strong, but there was also a sweet innocence about her that was endearing. I also enjoyed the plot line that involved the young boy who was recovering from a severe injury and dealing with issues of anger and resentment.

Fair warning to those readers unfamiliar with sensual romance novels. This one has scenes of explicit sex. That will satisfy those readers who like that in a book, others can skip read and stick to the storyline. However, if you like a good, easy read, I suggest you not skip this book.

Don't know why this book is under Christian does not belong there. I stopped reading it after just a couple of chapters because I knew where it was going and deleted it from my device.

3.0 out of 5 stars Light romance, interesting characters July 29 2011

Paige has been raised in african countries, following her parents' missions to heal the poor. Now a doctor herself, she's back in the states, helping a family friend to recover from a heat-attack.

Hoping to help a young patient recover from a life changing injury, she seeks the help of Clay Reynold, a man who has had a serious accident in the past and who seems fully rehabilitated. But not all scars show and Clay is unwilling to help.

Overall, I liked the book. It's a light romance with a comforting little town atmosphere and nice characters.

However, some parts of the plot were just too unbelievable : why would any respecting doctor seek the help of an unlicensed man and an unwilling one to boot? And wouldn't someone who's travelled far and dealt with various cultures be more knowledgeable and emotionally stronger than most?

It's a good choice if you want a feel-good story to while away a few hours but don't expect the plot to make much sense.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT Christian fiction Sept. 21 2012

This book keeps popping up as I search for Christian fiction books for my Kindle - it is not a Christian fiction book. As other reviewers said, it has trash in it...Disappointing. Not sure how books get "categorized", but author or Amazon need to re-categorize this book.
