About the Author
Anna Thomas wrote The Vegetarian Epicure in 1973, which transformed the landscape of American cooking. She is the author, most recently, of the James Beard Award–winning cookbook Love Soup. She lives in Los Angeles and Ojai, California.

The nicest part of the book though are all the comments and explanations she's included about different ingredients and ways to shop. If you live in the US it'll be extra-helpful because you might have access to the kind of markets she's describing, with lots of local produce and that Mexican influence we don't have as much up here in Canada. Her writing is personable and appealing, and I spent hours when I received this at Christmas just perusing the book and smiling at all the possibilities - it makes for a charming read as well as a great source of recipes.
All-in-all, a fantastic cookbook, probably my favourite.

The title says Soup, and there a good soup recipies which is what I was after, but it's also cluttered with non-soup recepies.Published 14 months ago by Inge Morrissey
