5.0 out of 5 stars Love, Truth and Perception, July 1 2002
By
Margaret Martin (Bowie, MD United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Love, Truth and Perception: Spiritual and Philosophic View of Human Destiny (Paperback)
I just read this book for the 6th or 7th time, which is unusual for me. (A few books in my library I read parts of over and over - T.S.Eliot, choice passages from Joyce Cary, Shakespeare.) Each time I read it, I find new ways to explain myself to myself. I read it again as part of an assigned program of study which Kathy Oddenino, the author, is teaching as the "Science of Life." We wrote book reports, with questions as guides. I'm amazed at the levels this book takes me to within myself. Kathy writes, "When mystery surrounds why an experience happened to us and its overall outcome, fear becomes the guiding force that controls our reaction." The satisfaction I feel in understanding the levels of frustration (depression) I've felt in my life because of this "sense" of mystery, and not really knowing how to think and how to appreciate the Art of Thinking, is priceless. I am not interested in letting fear be the guiding force in my life anymore. Before, I didn't always realize it was. This book opens a new world of explanation which is refreshingly intense and easy to follow at the same time. Every time I read it, I find more intricate levels of how to understand and appreciate the power we have as humans to create what we want in our life. We really can remove the mystery and answer the "whys" of life - we can teach ourselves to Think. What a relief it is. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn to think.
