5.0 out of 5 stars a helpful book March 17 2007
By Inga
That my husband needs unconditional respect the way that i need and long for unconditional love was a revelation to me. This book opened my eyes to what my partner needs from me, and by putting the principles of this book into practice i can really see what was lacking in the way i treated him, and what a difference there is in our relationship when i treat him with respect. As the author suggests will happen, my husband responds with love towards me when i treat him the way the book describes. It was eye opening and true.

I chose this rating because the work book is basically getting you to repeat the book. The questions aren't any more thought provoking than you get just reading the book itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly Helpful! May 4 2006
By Amazon Customer - Published on
This book is full of insight. I've been married for 17 years to a wonderful man that I have always respected. I never realized, however, how many little things I said and did that made him feel so belittled. (And he certainly didn't know how to share that with me!) It really is like learning to speak a different language. And although I KNEW he loved me, I also felt that something was missing. It's not easy to change so many years of habit, but understanding why we each react the way we do has made it easier to connect with one another. I whole-heartedly recommend this book, especially if your goal is to make your spouse more happy, and so have a more peaceful marriage. Even if you think you can never respect your husband, or your wife is unlovable, there is valuable knowledge to be gained here.

3.0 out of 5 stars great book, not so great workbook IMO Dec 3 2013

questions get SOOO repetitive. the book is great but the workbook is meh.. It seems like the questions were just thrown in there at some points to fill up space. The same question is asked many ways. many ways, the same question is asked. the question that is asked is asked a little different than it was previously. (like that). again LOVE the love and respect book very much!!!
