This bowl is described as 1 quart. When I recieved it, the shape of the bowl kept me from noticing how small it actually was. It is a wide, shallow bowl. The bowl was pretty, so I removed the labels and disposed of the packaging. My dog eats 1/2 can (12.6 oz can) of dog food, mixed with a little water. One quart would have given me room for her wet food, plus extra water, with plenty of room for mixing. This bowl was so small, it was hard to mix the food. My little 36 lb.Border Collie is "dainty' in her eating habits. I could tell that she had trouble with this bowl because it's so shallow, the food is hard to keep in the bowl. It goes over the edge. I filled this "bella bowl" with water to measure the capacity. It holds 3 cups of water, if filled to the rim. One quart is 4 cups. I wanted something pretty, ordered 2 of these, and now I'm out $10.00, since I can't return them after removing all the labels. The stainless steel is thin. There is an air space between the plastic outer shell and the interior stainless steel liner. The plastic shell is attached under the top rim of the bowl. It appears seamless, so it was done very well, at least initially. Very light weight. The non-skid gasket that is set into a recess in the bottom of the bowl, did't work for me. The one time my dog ate from this bowl, it slid to the back of her embossed plastic food tray. I gave this bowl 2 stars for cuteness. Be aware though, this bowl is not as advertised. If your dog weighs more than 20 pounds tops, don't buy it.
