1.0 out of 5 stars Books=Wives Mar 1 2004

Having seen Hegre's two books/two wives, I wonder if he has any more books in him. It just seems too easy; marry someone attractive, take intimate photos, don't edit too tightly, publish, and move on to the next wife/book. Come on.

I think he could really edit down; the quality seems to be secondary to being more and more explicit. There is no subtlety here, or thought (see Helmut Newton).

I bought his first book, "My Wife", and then just looked at "Luba", just more of the same. Show some range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intimate Portraiture at its Best! Dec 14 2008
By Michelle7 TOP 500 REVIEWER
This is Petter Hegre's strongest work to date. Wow! Luba is an undeniably beautiful woman but what Hegre does here is nothing short of miraculous. It is intimate portrait into the world they share together as man and wife and the photography is simply stunning.

Hegre has been here before. In his previous books he documented the beauty of other individual women, but Luba is Hegre at his very best. Perhaps he's learned from his previous works. Perhaps it's just some indefinable quality that Luba projects that makes this work so special. Whatever it is, those that appreciate real beauty and understand real art, will absolutely fall in love with Luba. She's real and she's really, really beautiful. And Hegre shares her with us completely.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incredible! Jan 12 2004
By Ed S
Petter is a gifted and insightful photographer. Luba is not only a portafolio of his photography but a personal view of his gorgeous wife and sister.

This book offers a tremendous range of his abilities with the camera and the quality of beauty he strives for. If Luba is a small representation of this artist's craft, I can't wait for a new publication.

Petter has inspired me to pursue a similar carrer and profession. The book was a bit pricy, but the imagery was well worth it.

Well done Petter. I hope to meet you sometime and learn from you!!
