super police procedural romance, Oct 31 2009
By Harriet Klausner - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Luke: Armed and Dangerous (Paperback)
Trinity MacKenna spent the last four years in London where she has a thriving career and a boyfriend. However, she has finally returned home to spend the holidays with her family on their Flying M ranch in Arizona.
At a welcome home party, Trinity meets the ranch's foreman Luke Denver. Each are attracted to one another as he wants her and her him though she insists she is going to marry some English bloke. However, Luke is actually an undercover DEA agent working the illegal drug trafficking accentuated by a turf war and the bust by County Sheriff Wayland of three Cochise College students for possession. He fears for Trinity and her sister Skylar as someone wants to use the ranch as a depot for shipping drugs.
The second Armed and Dangerous undercover police procedural romance (see Zack) is a fast-paced, heated thriller as readers will want their own hot tubs. The key to this terrific entry is the case and the safety of civilians come before the sexual need although Luke and Trinity insures the audience has plenty of encounters of the first kind (and third kind for readers and voyeurs). As expected Cheyenne McCray deftly merges the heat of suspense with that of sex and love in this super thriller.

Steamy hot cowboy, Dec 14 2009
By Katie "www.bookingit.net" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Luke: Armed and Dangerous (Paperback)
Trinity MacKenna moved away from Douglas, Arizona six years previous to start a new life. In that time, she transformed herself by losing weight, scoring a successful job, moving to London, England, and had a wealthy boyfriend with a hot accent. She decided to return to Arizona when she had a month off to visit her sister, Skylar, who still ran the family ranch.
When she meets Luke Rider, she realizes that maybe her new life is missing what he may be able to give her.
Luke Denver, aka Luke Rider, is an undercover government agent living as a ranch foreman on Skylar MacKenna's ranch to investigate potential drug smugglers. Having been focused on his job for so many years, he surprised himself to be immediately attractive and possessive of the beautiful Trinity.
Can Trinity keep distance from the cowboy and can Luke maintain focus on doing his job while attempting to win Trinity?
As with all Cheyenne McCray books, Luke is steaming hot. Luke is an alpha male that is completely overwhelming to Trinity. At times, he is almost too alpha, especially when Trinity cannot speak in complete sentences to him without stuttering. On the other hand, Trinity is an easy character to relate to. Unfortunately, I became angry with her towards the end.
The pacing is pretty well done, although I thought some of the intriguing portions of Luke's job took away from his relationship with Trinity. Also, I felt the ending is rushed and messy, leaving several issues unresolved.
Overall, Luke is supremely enjoyable. The romance is hot and intense, the relationship between Luke and Trinity believable even if a bit over the top (always getting caught in embarrassing situations), and you want to keep turning the pages. Give this book a try. You won't be disappointed.

COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!, Sep 21 2010

This review is from: Luke: Armed and Dangerous (Paperback)
I read "Luke" when it first came out and I could not put it down. It read like a movie. Without reiterating everything that has already been summarized by others, let me just say that undercover DEA agent Luke Denver aka ranch foreman Luke Rider is one hunka burnin' love. From the moment he sees Trinity at a Christmas party, he knows she's what he wants. Trinity, whose older sister Skylar is the heroine in the first book in the series, "Zack: Armed and Dangerous", is home for a holiday visit. She's carved out a nice life for herself in London with a great career and an engagement to a wealthy, gentrified businessman named Race. When she meets Luke, she's instantly in lust, but hesitant to do anything about it. How these two get together is the stuff of lusty dreams.
Although Luke made the first move, he wanted Trinity to make up her own mind because he wanted her for his own. Kudos to Trinity for realizing pretty early on that her relationship with Race was too safe and one that she had settled on; taking a chance on Luke was her heart's desire. When these two get together, it is combustible!
I loved these two characters so much that I'd like to see them as recurring characters in future books and hope Ms. McCray will someday write a spinoff series starring members of Luke's large family in Houston. Enjoy!!
