Thoroughly enjoyed this series; great acting; great drama. I purchased both 1 & 2 thinking they were season 1 & 2. Discovered, however, they were parts 1 & 2 of the first season. If I hadn't read the small print, I wouldn't have known. I paid in total $85.00 for the 2 parts. Far too expensive, plus the episodes could have been placed on one disk. Downton Abbey was a much better buy. I'll be wiser next time. "caveat emptor"!

I Love Luther,

I wasn't sure what to expect from Luther Season 2, since Season 1 was so amazing and a "hard act to follow." I was, perhaps, 5 minutes into viewing Episode 1 of Season 2 when I realized I had once again been completely absorbed into Luther's brilliance. The writing, the atmosphere, and the acting are first-rate. A warning to those who have never experienced Luther - this is gritty, hold back no punches drama, and for those who are unaccustomed to British accents, it might be a little difficult to catch every word. My only complaint, and this has nothing to do with the series or content, is that the volume on this CD was extremely low, and I had to boost my TV volume into the 50s in order to hear it.

We loved the first season of Luther and were looking forward to the second one. Although we enjoyed this season thoroughly we didn't find it quite as engaging as the first. We really missed some of the major characters who made the first season amazing. There were also less episodes, which gave one less time to be drawn into the story. The emphasis shifted from Luther's fragile state of mind in the first season to just getting on with the general police business of finding the criminal. Still definitely worth buying.
