The name Lysy spells `musical excellence', I am not discovering something new. To my surprise, cellist Antonio Lysy, Mr. Alberto Lysy's son is just as fantastic as his father was, a virtuoso violin player and legendary teacher. It will not be too long before we will go to see Antonio's concerts, it is a given.
This record has an excellent technical quality which audiophiles will appreciate, nothing is missing, the true sounds are there, no filters were used to cut anything, a true value nowadays.
The music from these masters composers from Argentina is known, Ginastera, Piazzola, Schiffrin, Golijov are known quantities, the beautiful arrangements of Maestro Bragato are to be enjoyed, ex.: `Graciela and Buenos Aires' deserves to be heard at least once in your life, trust me.
If you like tango style, `Le Grand Tango' will make you dance to the best.
As for my preference, `Oblivion' is one of the most beautiful compositions ever written and it has not been recorded at this level ever, to my knowledge, but here you have it: the best romantic jewel of the Piazzola repertoire.
There is also far out advanced sounds from the Incas in Puneña 2, this requires perhaps some knowledge of that region's music or an open mind.
And the last piece, 'Pampas' completes one of the best albums that you can get, Maestro Schiffrin put a synthesis of feelings as only he can make it.
Congratulations Mr. Antonio Lysy et al for such a great work and BIG Thanks !!!
