underated April 16 2013

I think this keyboard got bad reviews mainly because the software wasnt ready at time of shipping. Ive used this keyboard for several months and I really like it. Its portable, works flawlesssly with my ipad and laptop. The free Ignite software is a bonus for sketching songs. 37 keys makes playing much more effecient than the normal 25 key boards. Programmable pads are nice. dont let the early reviews fool you.

Great portability, cheap construction. April 27 2014
By adamlwatson - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this needing a portable midi keyboard with knobs for sending CCs, as well as for the advertised Logic Pro integration through the "Hypercontrol" protocol. When I booted up Logic X, I found that said integration doesn't really work.

As a generic protable midi keyboard it was decent, but the USB adapter broke after very little usage across just a few months.

I'm disappointed that the construction is so flimsy and that the software integration does not work as expected.

For home use, it does the job quite well.

About size, it easily fits into my laptop backpack.

Keys are small but not very childish. There's not much space below the keys compared to a normal piano of course but it's not so small that you can adjust the pressure easily.

The knobs doesn't feel so high quality but easy to use, compatible with various softwares, I'm using with Ableton live and works like a charm.

Drum pads, I don't know I didn't use a keyboard with drum pads before but it's not like how I imagined. You have to press pretty hard to get a sound from those pads and it really makes noise if you directly put on your table, maybe something like sponge can be put under the keyboard to avoid that TOCK-TOCK noise that you're making while hitting those pads.

For the software ignite, I didn't like it at all. It has many features with a very large sound bank but it's not durable with the sound quality. I'm not sure if it's a compatibility issue with my computer but the sound is going buzzy while playing and the bitrate is variable. For example I'm hitting a key on a normal grand piano, If I hit hard the sound quality is ok like 320 kbps mp3 audios but if y you don't hit with your all force the audio quality is going down like 64 kbps, a kind of a old radio quality. It's nothing to do with the keyboard itself, just the problem of the software and I'm saying again maybe it's a problem only with my computer but I'm using it with Ableton Live and I don't have such problem

Great Controller! April 16 2014

I bought this controller as a way to input music into music notation software, and it fits the bill for that quite perfectly. Additionally, the "Ignite" software that comes with it is quite interesting - I haven't messed with it yet (I've been busy notating a bunch of stuff), but it looks like it could be useful. I think the problems people had with this earlier were before new drivers were released, and also on Windows machines - the controller works just fine with my 2013 MacBook Pro.

Overall - good controller, not sure about how useful the "Ignite" software will be yet.

The keyboard has some great function. I really enjoy the sustain button and the pitch bend button. It does travel well and thats what it was made to do. It does not link well regarding play option in logic pro x but other then that its a great little keyboard.
