Book Description

Aug. 16 2000 Training Guides (Que)
Exam 70-217, Installing & Administering a Windows 2000 Directory Services Infrastructure measures a candidates ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot the Windows 2000 Active Directory Components, DNS for Active Directory, and Active Directory security solutions. In addition, this test measures the skills required to manage, monitor, and optimize the desktop environment by using Group Policy. The Directory Services Infrastructure exam, sure to be one of the most popular due to its inclusion as a Core Exam and the prevalence of AD technology in Windows 2000, is a natural fit for a New Riders Training Guide. New Riders Training Guides offer candidates the perfect self-study tool to allow them to prepare confidently at their own pace and in their own available time. New Riders has included information on the new testing types and designed the titles to provide plenty of practice opportunities to gain the skills required to pass these exams.

Review

This book is a must for anyone planning to take exam 70-217. -- Rick Kingslan, Solutions Consultant, Rainier Technology

Well worth the money. An excellent addition to any administrator's bookshelf. -- Emmett Dulaney, certificationcorner.com

From the Author

In this book I have tried to pass on the fundamental concepts that drive the Active Directory rather than concentrating only on the “click here then here” information. The chapters in the book all try to use this approach to first tell you what the technology is conceptually and why you need it and then to jump in and tell you how to configure it.
