Brilliant TV,
By A Customer
This review is from: MI-5: Volume One (DVD)
Tired of the drivel that gets served up on US TV? This series is well worth the investment. This BBC production called "Spooks" in England, but called MI-5 here, has smart acting and interesting plots without the need for gratuitous violence so rampant on American TV. Just one more example of why the BBC provides quality entertainment. Our only complaint is that the BBC is slow on making the next series available across the pond. C'mon BBC we are waiting..

The British do it right!!,

This review is from: MI-5: Volume One (DVD)
I am intrigued with the British mysteries. They are fast paced and you never know what is going to happen. I just wish that they would be a little cheaper to buy - I would like the complete set. I know that Amazon has the best price...but, I still would like it be less!

glad I bought the dvd, but...,

This review is from: MI-5: Volume One (DVD)
I was thrilled when this came out in dvd in a format for US viewing and pre-ordered it immediately, have really enjoyed seeing the uncut episodes in order to get all the details. The only criticism is the overly complicated menu in order to get to the episodes, you put the disk in and wait for a menu to appear, and instead you get a picture of a desk top, and then you realize a voice is droning in the background and what it's muttering are instructions on how to get to the episodes. There are a lot of extra features, but they're included in the overly cute menu packaging where you have to either try to pay attention to the voice or consult the 3-page outline included in the packaging, and then click on the feature you want and wait an unusually long time for it to load. It would have been a lot more convenient if they had run the episodes on the first two disks, and put all the extra features on the third. After all the work that went into the over-complicated menu, the actual packaging is cheap and I had to break one of the plastic tabs to release one of the dvd's. But if you love the show by all means get the dvds in order to see the episodes in entirety.
