An excellent guide to Mac OSX Lion. Well written, easy to understand; every Lion user should have a reference cipy; in particular the index makes it easy to find the section of the book that contains answers to any problem you encounter.Mac OS X Lion For Dummies

This manual is easy to read and refer to. This book is for beginners to OSX Lion Program. Love the fact that it is printed in full colour!

Saved my new MacBook Air! Sept. 14 2011

I highly recommend keeping a copy of this great book around for those times you do something stupid and need the chapter on Troubleshooting. I installed Kaspersky for Mac 2011 Anti-virus on my MacBook Air and it is not compatable with the new LION. It is compatable with earlier versions but not the latest OS-X Lion. The software crashed my system. I didn't panic, well a little bit, I reached for my copy of Lion for Dummies (me), turned to the chapter on Troubleshooting and Reinstalling from Time Machine. Within 15 minutes, Lion for Dummies and my Time Machine had me back up and running. Thank you OS-X Lion for Dummies..............

Informative, Entertaining Nov. 22 2011
By Scott - Published on
Format: Paperback
Interesting, informative, and even entertaining. was skeptical buying a book about it because I figured it would be dry, boring, and hellish to read. I was wrong. Dr. Mac is knowledgeable about the subject and actually makes the book fun and easy to read. All in all, Lion is pretty similar to older Mac operating systems, but this book does a great job of explaining all the new little features that make using my Macbook a lot more efficient.

There are a lot of forums and sites dedicated to Macbooks but I've found them difficult to navigate, so having this as a resource has been very helpful. He assumes that you have no previous knowledge using Mac OS, so everything is explained.

Useful and amusing - as usual Aug. 22 2011

I'm a big fan of Dr. Mac. Have been using Macs for decades & still find fresh insights, tricks, explanations and workarounds in his 'Dummy' books. Lion OS is different enough that I was delighted when the shipping date was moved up! I wanna get max use out of the new options.

I just bought a iMac for the first time and it has helped me with all the questions that I needed so far. I could also go to many of the Apple Forums but at times having some reference in your hand is nice with out going online for help.

Simple and easy to follow ! Jan. 23 2012
By Leung Wing Keung - Published on
Format: Paperback
In the past, Dummies Series always give me an impression that it is only provided for beginners who have little computer knowledge. But this book changes my mind. I completed 4 chapters in one night. Its content explained the OS X Lion in a clear and simple way. In the difficult part, some figures are also shown. I fully understand although I am a non-English speaker.

If you are a new user for Mac, I strongly recommend to buy this one. I also read two to three Mac materials. This one is my favorite.
