Product Description

Amazon.ca Product Description

Mate them with your Apple iPod music player or use them independently with any portable audio device--either way, Macally's PODPRO noise-reducing headphones offer high style, relaxing comfort, and quality sound from their closed-ear, large-diaphragm design. The set weighs a mere 6.5 ounces, and its adjustable headband also happens to collapse for easy transport in the supplied soft leather carrying case.

The PODPRO's impressive frequency response spans 18 to 21,000 Hz, giving you extended bass and treble reproduction in addition to up to 16 dB of solid-state noise reduction from 25 to 16,000 Hz--not as wide a range as the headphones are capable of reproducing, but still just about the entire audible range of human hearing. This makes them perfect for use on plane flights and bus rides, in offices with noisy air-conditioning systems, and even while you vacuum the carpet at home.

The headphones' high, 105 dB sensitivity guarantees solid performance from even the wimpiest headphone amplifiers. Noise-reduction requires use of 2 AAA batteries (not supplied), good for up to 100 hours of active use.

What's in the Box
Headphones, 2-prong airline adapter, soft leather carrying case, and a user's manual.

5.0 out of 5 stars great value, Nov 30 2005

These headphone are great travel companions. My iPod sounds wonderful through them and the noise cancellation feature really quiets down airplane noise, even when sitting on the wing. I've had mine since April and 7 months later am as happy with these headphones as the day I bought them. Still working off the same pair of AAA batteries, too!

Nice and compact, the leatherette carrying case can also hold your iPOD.

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid. Inexpensive., April 18 2006

I've used these on four 14-hour flights halfway around the world, and what I can say about them is that they work. I have no idea what problem the previous reviewer had with them, because I've used mine now for about a hundred hours over the year or so I've owned them and they do what they need to do: they dramatically cut the noise from airplanes and other persistent sound.

However... They are just not as comfortable as more expensive ones. I now have a set of the Bose headphones (only six times more expensive than these!!) and they're pretty impressive. Having said that, these are good for $50, and if you're going to use them for stretches shorter than 14 hours they're fine. (I found them comfortable in two- or three-hour stretches.)

So, in sum: worth $50. But the more expensive ones are better. But these work pretty good.

I have more expensive NR headphones, but for the price, compact-ability and quality, these are a great value. I use them more than my other more expensive set. Great for Travel!
