A movie that puts a smile on my wife's face,

I saw this movie with my wife a while ago and she was taken by its humor and story line. It made a perfect stocking stuffer.

Great movie - funny and romantic,

Well I think most people know what this is about but just in case - Tom is a playboy bachelor type with great guy friends and lots of attractive girlfriends living a great life and one real girl friend - Hannah. They have been friends forever and when she goes away for an extended work trip he realizes that there is something missing in his life - Hannah and he resolves to be with her romantically when she comes back. Well she comes back with a fiance and proceeds to ask him to be her maid of honor. He reluctantly agrees as it is the only way to convince her that he is the better man for her and his guy friends try to help. The movie goes from there with him being the maid of honor to trying to tell her his feelings and he almost can't do it but not to spoil anything they do end up together but how - you watch the movie to find out. I really don't think you'll regret it. It is a funny, romantic movie with some poignant moments like Tom talking with his Dad about Hannah. Sydney Pollock does a fabulous job as Tom's Dad.
Now on to the DVD - I encourage you to buy it as it is a movie that is more than just a male version of Best friends wedding - it is much better than that. Give it a try. However, that said a couple comments - Sony put more extras on the blue ray version than this version - that stinks and I'm not happy about that. Also if you have an older tv - this dvd may not play as crystal clear with color and light as it does on newer tv. I tried it on my old tv and it was darker than it should be for many scenes then I tried it on my portable dvd player and it was perfect. I'm not spending money on a new tv just for this movie but funny all other movies play just fine. I'm not happy with the studio at all about these technical issues and lack of extras on regular DVD.
