VELVET VOICE,
By
This review is from: Madeleine Peyroux:Careless Love (Audio CD)
I bought this CD having never heard of Madeleine Peyroux and can't stop listening to it. She has a velvety smooth voice, which lends itself to a very easy and soothing listening experience. Beautiful and calming, and makes a great CD to play during an evening get together with family/friends.

One of the best!,

This review is from: Madeleine Peyroux:Careless Love (Audio CD)
As a fan of Billy Holiday, I couldn't pass up the chance to listen to Ms. Peyroux's Careless Love. I heard her sing on radio and couldn't buy this album fast enough. I was entirely pleased with the whole album. Her voice is tender, pleasing, and exceptionally brilliant when it comes to interpreting the songs she sings. If you enjoy Billy holiday, you'll enjoy this songstress. Not unlike Ms. Holiday, she evokes a rich sadness that tells you she has lived what she sings!

This review is from: Madeleine Peyroux:Careless Love (Audio CD)
I purchased this cd based on the reviews on this forum and I would have to agree with the others. This is a wonderful album. Madeleine's voice is timeless and unique. Yes, her voice is reminiscent of Billie Holiday but she's got her own definite style. She adds the right amount of subtle playful sultriness to her songs which makes her interpretations memorable. I highly recommend this!
