At this price, how could you not? I trusted my instincts thinking that Madonna (or her people) would ensure that these books would be of high quality. Well, the artwork is spectacular ... they are wonderful to LOOK AT ... which is perfect for kids. The stories vary in quality from wonderful like Mr. Peabody's Apples to above average. I know a lot of people with children so I picked these up for them for Christmas ... never have I been thanked so much for a gift. Everyone loved them, kids, parents ... everyone.

As a normal reader of this set, I found the themes of these 5 books are deep and significant. As Madonna noted on the books, these may also be great for some grown-up kids. Even though, any kid at an age between 4-8 would appreciate this amazing set. The words are simple and easy to understand, but the plots are colourful and fascinating; in addition, get yourself to be ready to be dazzled by those captivating illustrations.More importantly,the stories teach the children about how to face and deal with jealosy, rumor; what is the meaning of life, and what is the concept of happiness; it also covers courage, intelligence, and even more aspects. These stories would definitely help your children to compare and distinguish with other stereotyped "princess-ish", "disney-ish", happy-ending, pointless stories. Furthermore, I think these stories will act as a better guidance to a person's early life. Trust me, it will be worthy for you spend this on your kids. I have 2 cousins, one is 4 yrs old, the other one is 6 yrs old, they both love the books so much when I gave them as a gift. I also bought them the audio CD set, so I don't have to read to them when I am busy. If you are in doubt, go check any of the 5 books out in the library or any book store, you will be amazed how great they are. But remember, each book will be separately sold more than $20, and plus tax. Why don't take this great chance to get them together before they are out of stock? If your child love the English Roses story, the sequel, Too Good Too Be True, released last year, would continue the plot. P.S: 1. Don't underestimate Madonna, this is certainly not about Madonna promoting her music or being involved in some big controversies. 2. In a die-hard Madonna fan's point of view, it would be a great subsitution if you can't get the handsigned LTD version box set. Besides, it truly would stand good with the LTD "To Good To Be True" box set, or your other Madonna collections, I suppose. Thanks for viewing.

I purchased these books for my 6 and 8 year old nieces, and they absolutely adore them. I read the books with them, and they are wonderful. The illustrations are breath taking as well. All the books carry a positive message and teach young kids how to deal with sittuations they will go through in life on day. A definite proof that Madonna has taken a step foward with her life. Wonderful job, love them.

I was so impressed with the children's book MR. PEABODY'S APPLES by Madonna that I decided to read it to my fourth through sixth grade classes too. I bought the entire set and am anxious to read her other books! My six year-old daughter loved it and was able to understand the important theme addressing the dangers of spreading rumors and the dishonor in defaming someone's character. The story follows a small town's beloved Little League coach who is suspected of stealing apples. Ultimately, the coach leaves his players with an important life lesson after asking one of his players to climb to the top of the bleachers with a pillow on a windy day. Mr. Peabody advised the player to cut the pillow and shake the feathers into the wind. "The wind carried the thousands of feathers far and wide." The coach then advised the playr to retrieve all the feathers. Impossible! "It would be just as impossible to undo the damage that you have done by spreading the rumor that I am a thief," Mr Peabody explained. "Each feather represents a person in Happville."
