Madonna has been one of the most prolific video artists of the last twenty years, and this 2nd compilation (the first being The Immaculate Collection) shows why.
The best videos on here are the murder mystery of Bad Girl / the Matador love affair in Take A Bow / the poignant and thought provoking Drowned World / the gothic and dark Frozen / the fast paced, image laden visual treat that is Ray Of light / and the incredible / the very surreal Bedtime Story / the beautiful B&W simplicity that is Secret / Rain and Power of Goodbye are so incredibly stylised (never has she looked so incredible) and not forgetting the sheer fun and tom-foolery with Austin Powers in Beautiful Stranger.
The collections weakest moments include Human Nature, a better video than the song, and the poor Love Don't Live Here Anymore (a cheap 1 shot video, which was filmed on a day off in Buenos Aires).
A bonus though is Fever, a simple dance to camera video which is laden with costume changes and special effects.
There are a couple of omissions though which I personally would have liked on here. The sexy, grainy Erotica (perhaps her most inventive musical moment?), and the 70's themed Deeper and Deeper (though she has NO eyebrows in this video which may explain its omission!)
With no extras to speak of, this is still an incredible compilation of videos from a woman who is without doubt one of the leaders in her field.

A great follow-up to her THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION home video. THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION home video contains her videos from early 1984 to late 1990. This incredible home video contains her videos from early 1993 to mid 1999. I have to say that this home video is a must-have video.
BAD GIRL
This has to be one of my favorite videos from Madonna. The video features Madonna as a chain-smoking business woman, who gets off work with a different guy every night. Christopher Walktins plays a strange guardian angel of some sort who goes back in time to see how Madonna's character was murdered. The video has that BODY OF EVIDENCE/DANGEROUS GAME theme.
FEVER
This is another single from the EROTICA album, but it was not released here in the U.S. However, Madonna did shoot a music video for it and it's an unbelievable music video. One scene features Madonna with a short red wig on, wearing a tight red tank top and flashing pants, where she stands in front of a blood red background. The next scene features Madonna in a short orange wig with a strange gold skirt, standing in front of that same red background. The third would be Madonna wearing a long orange wig, wearing nothing but two flowers to cover her chest and a lily to cover her privates
RAIN
When I first heard this song, I was amazed at how nice it was and I wondered if she had released it as a single. I found out that she did and I always wanted to see the video. I finally got the chance when I got this home video. The video features Madonna, in a short black wig, as an actress in a Japanese film. My favorite scene is wear she is standing between to thin walls that have water flowing down them. It's a real nice scene.
SECRET
Although I love the song, the video lacks creativity.

One can't help but enjoy this IMPRESSIVE video collection on DVD - ok, ok, I LOVE it - because that's the power of this mix of hits and tunes from (only?) 7 years of a great career - BUT a true fan can't help feeling TOTALLY CHEATED out of some of the most valuable gems of Mrs. Guy Ritchie's video history!!! And while I'm at it, why just 7 years? It seems ridiculously apparent that the "suits" at Warner/Maverick/AOL Time Warner, etc., etc., have sliced this package up for "optimum selling power" as a "family friendly" product. And the fact that the fans reviewing this DVD have largely accepted these omissions is strange. The obvious and glaring omissions of "Erotica", "Justify my Love" and "Deeper & Deeper" (no matter when they were released) is an utter act of cowardace on the part of the company to support/back the superior Mrs. Ritchie - and could she have made them any $$richer?? Truly a disgusting error! Again, while I love this digital collection, and view/listen OFTEN, I continue to be GREATLY disappointed that the fans weren't treated to the total package. Mrs. Ritchie is obviously not done creatively (the Drowned World Tour was her best yet), but a retrospective of videos to date is absolutely necessary! Enough with the "teaser" packages!! Other important omissions: "This Used To be My Playground", "You'll See", I'll Remember", and lastly, but NOT LEAST - the haunting "I Want You" featuring Massive Attack (I just can't understand this error!). Additionally, while I'm still ranting, (with the hope that someone at MAVERICK is listening - hello Mrs. Ritchie, are you out there?Read more ›

Madonna is a legend, a goddess of the 20th and 21st Century. OK, that's an understatement. In her 20 years that she has dominated the music business, she has sold more than 160 million albums, topped the UK singles and album chart 17 times and is one of the most respected women of all time. Her music videos play a big role in her status. She can use music videos to express herself and be even more creative than she already is!
The Video Collection - 93:99 features a collection of Madonna's best music videos from, unsurprisingly, 1993 to 1999. The videos run in order of release and I will be rating them out of ten, firstly on the song and secondly, on the video.
The first three music videos are taken from the album Erotica. The first video is Bad Girl (10/10, 9/10). A beautiful ballad with a good video to accompany it, it was featured in Madonna's erotic, 18+, 1993 film Body Of Evidence. Bad Girl also features clips from the film - not the erotic scenes if that's the only reason that you were thinking of buying it for! The second video is Fever (9/10, 8/10), also from 1993. This cover of Peggy Lee's classic simply swings! The video is very red! That's probably the best word to describe it as lots of flames surround Madonna. Not Madonna's best video, but still good. Rain (9/10, 10/10) was also released in 1993 and is the third video. It's another beautiful ballad that shows Madonna filming a movie. Her short, black hair was just one of Madonna's ever-changing images.
The next five videos are taken from the album Bedtime Stories with the fifth video taken from Something To Remember. The fourth video in the collection is Secret (9/10, 8/10) from 1994. This black and white video is very cool. Many people thought the song was about Madonna being pregnant.
