"Maggie's Baby" was a wonderful read. As an adoptive mother, I wasn't prepared to like this story. This is the first contemporary by Faulkner that I've read, although I love her very realistic historicals. She has a touch that sends the reader back into time. I wondered how "Maggie's Baby" would be. Wonderful! Heartwarming! The story of a girl who made her own future, faces tragedy and rises above it. This is a story that I will read again. I won't loan it,but I will give it 5 Stars. A Demarva Adoptive Mother

I began Colleen Faulkner's new book, Maggie's Baby, at 9:30 one evening and couldn't put down. It grabs and keeps you reading. For being her first contemporary it was great, I hope it's not her last. If you've ever visited the beach during tourist season, you'll enjoy another visit thru her characters eyes, both in the hospital scenes and listening to the quiet on a beach night. Be sure and buy this one...and take a nap before you start, you won't want to put it down.
