Product Description

From School Library Journal

Grade 7 Up–Abnett tells of a superhero thrown to Earth by a time storm. It so happens that Superman has been taken away by this very storm, and so most citizens assume Majestic is simply Superman in a new costume. Lois Lane, Clark Kent's wife, knows better. Hence some amusing scenes of mistaken identity, such as when Lois and Majestic meet and he tells her that she smells. Everything is too different for him, apparently. Later, Superman finds out that Majestic beat up the Green Lantern and is actually a morally ambivalent being, although he does get rid of the time storm. He moves into a single woman's house and of course her young son sees right through his ridiculous cover story. The time line jumps around but the scenes of superhero/average citizen interaction are entertaining. Entertaining enough to merit a purchase? Maybe.–John Leighton, Brooklyn Public Library, NY

Book Description

Born the Kherubim warrior race and arriving on Earth centuries ago, Mr. Majestic is one of the most powerful beings in the WildStorm universe. But when a traumatic event forced the super-strong hero into a self-imposed exile, the world lost one of its greatest champions. Now, years later, Mr. Majestic returns from his retirement and isolation to once again protect the cosmos. In this volume, Majestic and his allies set out to discover the secrets of the Kherubim technology lacing the Earth's crust that could cause the termination of the human race. But someone isn't happy about this and has targeted Majestic's team for execution

I just realized this was sitting on my shelf and I'd never read it. Just put it down and I'm really impressed. Really cool plot by the team of DnA and amazing art by Karl Kerschl. The story is self-contained in this trade, so you don't need to know much before picking it up. The story itself is interesting with great dialogue and internal monologue as well as wonderful pacing.

Superman's missing, and there's a storm overhead disrupting the futuristic technology in Metropolis. At the same time, Majestic, a Superman-like person, has appeared. Even if you don't care about the story, this is worth picking up just for the art. Kerschl draws everything great from a kid's baseball jersey to a huge techno-citadel on an alien planet.

Mr. majestic is really awesome i mean really awesome, he actually isn't the stuck up self absorbed jerk face most comic sites make him out to be. he's a good guy with a good heart but people tend to look at his point of view the wrong way. more often than not trust me. but yeah this is a great comic collection one that guys of 13 and older will defiantly enjoy.
