About the Author

Dr Elizabeth Williamson is Editor of the journal "Phytotherapy Research" published by Wiley. She is a member of the Group of Experts 13A, European Pharmacopoeia Commission and of Committee G, British Pharmacopoeia Commission, and is a compiler for the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia. She is also a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the Phytochemical Society of Europe. She has published over 30 papers and several books on the subject of plant medicines.

The Dabur Research Foundation is an Indian non-profit-making organisation recognised by various Indian government research agencies and regulatory authorities. The Foundation employs 110 scientists involved in R&D, and therefore is to be the contracted "author", rather then each named individual.

I was afraid that I had spent $133 on a grandiose book (perhaps elegantly illustrated) on Ayurvedic herbs. But Elizabeth has made a beautiful and intelligent bridge between Western Medicine and the Esoteric Healing World. She has written one of the most comprehensive books on Ayurveda that I have ever seen. The research she (or someone) has done comes through and even though the book is very technical, it is easily understood.I would recommend this book to anyone who is a serious student of Ayurveda. Not only that, I had a specific question I wanted help with. I found her email address, wrote to her and she immediately answered me back. Very impressive.
