4.0 out of 5 stars Ready, Set, Soap! March 21 2012

I truly have enjoyed reading about the 19 differnent soaps that Lhyubomyr Yatsyk has given step by step instructions for making. The instructions in this book are very detailed and easy to understand. The interactive Table of Contents was a wonderful surprise!

I have to say that I will be a beginner in soap making. I would have liked to see "tips" as to where to find some of the ingredients for the soap making. Maybe some tips on which "sweet aromas" that have been tried and work well. What do I use for melting dishes?

There are many great hours of fun that families can enjoy by making soaps from this book! I Know that we are gonna give it a shot!

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant & Beautiful! March 20 2012
By Grandma - Published on Amazon.com

Have you ever tried your hand at soap making? One of the things my girls and I have always liked to do is make handmade gifts for each other and pretty soaps have made an appearance more than once. You can, if you're of a mind, go the whole hog route of soap making starting with fat and lye, but for something quite some little bit safer you can buy soap base, colors and molds at most craft stores. This kind of "short-cut" soap making is perfectly suitable even as a craft for older children and teens.

Soap Making Lessons: Learn the Art of Creating Colorful and Fragrant Soap with our Step by Step Lessons with Photos (Soap Making at Home) is full of brilliant ideas for beautiful handmade soaps that start with soap base (the author calls it basis). Floating hearts, wedges of cheese, soap that looks like a slice of orange, sugar scrubs and much more, author Lyubomyr Yatsyk provides instructions for a wide variety of techniques in 19 different soap making lessons. I know you'll think of many more.

The author is not a native English speaker, but you should have no trouble following the ideas and the very clear pictures that go with the instructions. The book has an interactive Table of Contents that interfaces correctly with the Kindle Menu.

Thanks for the lovely ideas! Highly recommended!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poorly written Aug. 31 2013
By Mikki1950 - Published on Amazon.com

This was such a disappointment. English is obviously not the comfortable language of author; she should have had it read by someone who could translate meanings. I also was expecting some tips about melt and pour soap that was more complicated than melt and pour in form. I will not purchase from this author again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good information, but not for cold process April 24 2013
By Alicia Bernstein - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this book because the preview was enticing, but after purchasing, I found out that it does not cover cold process soap making. It deals primarily with the melt and pour method, and the ideas in it are grand. Some of the additional info on militants and oil blends was helpful to me.

3.0 out of 5 stars It was about making melt & pour tricks, not actually MAKING soap. April 13 2013
By Anne - Published on Amazon.com

Although there is nothing wrong with melt and pour techniques, I was hoping that this book offered cold processed soap recipes. The title was rather misleading, and I was disappointed. There are some useful tips in here though, and still learned something new.
