This sci-fi comedy from Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) director Susan Seidelman stars John Malkovich, as Dr. Jeff Peters, a scientist who has invented an affable robotic clone of himself named Ulysses (also played by Malkovich). Jeff is long on brains but short on personality or warmth, leaving his double an empty vessel, emotionally speaking. Jeff's employer, believing that if Ulysses only had a bit more spark he could be utilized as a publicity gimmick and fundraising tool, sends public relations executive Frankie Stone (Ann Magnuson) to emotionally train Ulysses in the ways of the heart and human interaction. What Frankie ends up with, however, is her own personal version of the perfect mate.

John Malkovitch is almos incredible actor.

This is a GREAT UNDER-RATED little 80's flick that I think more peolpe would enjoy if they just gave it a chance! All of the characters are so great and funny! I've never heard of Ann Magnusen but let me just say that she's great! So is John Malkovich! He plays 2 completely different charcters and does it very well! So just give this movie a chance! If I liked it, I'm sure you would too!
