Book Description

May 4 2010
For the first time all three of Malcolm Gladwell's bestselling, groundbreaking audiobooks are available together in an "instant classic" box set at a value-price.

THE TIPPING POINT: The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, has already changed the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

BLINK: In Blink, Malcolm Gladwell revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant-in the blink of an eye-that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept? How do our brains really work-in the office, in the classroom, in the kitchen, and in the bedroom? And why are the best decisions often those that are impossible to explain to others? Blink reveals that great decision makers aren't those who process the most information or spend the most time deliberating, but those who have perfected the art of "thin-slicing"-filtering the very few factors that matter from an overwhelming number of variables.

OUTLIERS: In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"-the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing. Along the way he explains the secrets of software billionaires, what it takes to be a great soccer player, why Asians are good at math, and what made the Beatles the greatest rock band. Brilliant and entertaining, OUTLIERS is a landmark work that will simultaneously delight and illuminate.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Canadian Author and Awesome Book Set Dec 1 2012
By Cameron
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought Malcolm Gladwell's "Outliers" on google play as a e-book and loved it, so after purchasing a hard copy of it for my dad for fathers day, I also was going to buy "blink" and "Tipping Point". I decided on this after seeing and interview with Malcolm Gladwell about the piece. It honestly just feels awesome to read, and has an actual textured feel to it, like a jean type of feel. The writing of course is amazing! Brings in so many great stories and concepts, it is an easy read, but is packed with information that really helps to broaden your views on what we think of as normal, and just accept every day,

I would highly recommend all three of these, and the way it all comes together in this set makes it perfect! If you like books such as freakonomics, which helps to not just simply answer questions, but allow the reader to base their own decisions upon the information provided, you will love these three!

....plus he is Canadian....WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE?!

5.0 out of 5 stars A 'must' for business and self-help collections already seeing popularity with any of the separate titles Sep 12 2010
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Malcolm Gladwell's THE BOX SET includes a bonus feature, appears unabridged on 22 CDs, and is narrated by Gladwell himself, who does a fine job of narrating THE TIPPING POINT, BLINK, and OUTLIERS. The deluxe box set offers all three books in one easy package and is a 'must' for business and self-help collections already seeing popularity with any of the separate titles.

5.0 out of 5 stars A step UP from the regular hardcover books Sep 1 2012
By Lazo V. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I must admit I was hesitant to purchase this set. I had let a friend-of-a-friend borrow my hardcover copy of Blink...and never got it back. Gladwell's books all have a certain clean "look" to them, and this set did not appear to keep up with that appearance. As I did not own Tipping Point, I took it upon myself to order this particular box set of Gladwell books instead of picking up individual books -- I am incredibly impressed with what I received.

I do not want to downplay the quality of the typical hardcover prints of these books, as the quality is fine. But the quality of THIS set is much better, in my opinion. First of all, as the books do not have dust covers they have a nice texture to the cover. Second, these books are noticeably bigger -- while the width is simliar, these books are around an inch taller and a half-inch deeper. Third, the paper used for the book feels to be a better quality -- thicker to the touch, feeling as there is more to them (I routinely felt like I was turning multiple pages when I was only turning one). Also, in this version, you do get some drawings by Brian Rea throughout the books -- a nice addition. I happened to note that this set was printed in Italy, while the traditional hard cover books were printed in the USA (this matters to some people).

I have to say I am incredibly pleased with my purchase. If you are a fan of Malcolm Gladwell and your books are showing some wear, I would not hesitate to recommend you treat yourself to this set. They'll look great on your desk, on your book shelf, or in your hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasant Way to Change Your Thinking Feb 7 2011
By Edwin P. Morrow - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
It is boring to re-read an entire book, but not boring to hear Malcolm Gladwell repeated many times. His credibility and personality, plus his lyrical voice, make it enjoyable to listen again and again to his books. This repeat of the listening and learning process helps master his important concepts, and to isolate those which apply to your life, your relationships and your business opportunities.
