I saw Mamma Mia 6 times in the theatre and now with this DVD I can watch it every day (well almost!) and finally sing along in my own home unimpeded! Mamma Mia is so much fun to watch and each time I come away feeling so great! It has an amazing cast of characters! Meryl Strep is magnificent! I also own the Soundtrack which captures the magic of the movie. What a great CD to sing along to while driving. If you love the movie, you have to own the soundtrack too!

Twenty-two ABBA songs? Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan? A movie from a musical? It actual works! The story is simple. Donna (mother Meryl Streep) was once a wild child and now, twenty years later has a daughter, Sophie who is getting married. They run a rustic hotel on a tiny Greek island. The trouble is, Sophie never knew who her father was and neither did Donna. Sophie figures out it has to be one of three men, so she seceretly invites them while mother Donna invite her two best friends making a perfect excuse to team up three couples during a wedding. That's it. Really.

Even if you loathe ABBA, you'll find some good humor and songs here amidst the clever (if forced) storyline. The songs and dancing action are non-stop, although some of the choreograophy could have been improved. The visuals are stunning and Greece never looked so good. Sure, some of the songs are goofball and corny, but they carry the story and for the two male members of ABBA (Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus) to have created such a monster hit is remarkable. Yes, Meryl Streep really CAN sing as good as the rest of the cast, but Pierce Brosnan is horridly, inexplicably painful to listen to. No matter. It's a simple, light-hearted film with lots of good music and good feelings. The ending is hilarious. Its just a good time for all.

Dolby Surround makes a great mix for the view.

This was a fantastic musical DVD. I've watched it twice in the past two weeks both times while walking on my treadmill, the music works really well for fast walking and the movie itself keeps you motivated, I would truly recommend it for those who find just walking on a treadmill too boring!

When I first saw Mamma Mia in the theatre, I didn't expect it to hold up to the theatrical version. Boy, was I wrong. I saw it twice in 3 days. What a great feel good movie that anyone can dance along with and sing along with. The Blu-ray is new to me this year and I just love it's clarity and the quality of the sound. The extras, including interviews with the directors, etc. and the making of the set are so good to have. They make repeat viewings even more enjoyable. I love Greece, I love Mamma Mia and, in time, I'm sure I'll even get used to hearing Pierce sing!

This is a great "feel good" movie. Merryl Streep is great in it. It's fun to sing-a-long too.

What can I say, well I have been an Abba fan since the 70's. I have seen the show live in Toronto and Las Vegas. I, with my partner and family on both sides of the Atlanic have watched the dvd 3 times. WE have seen the movie at it's first day of showing in London Ontario and then later in Chesterfield U.K> We have the cd in the car in UK and Canada. Sometimes can't get enough of them. Just had to buy it. TEN Stars.
