Best Mammal Book!,
By
This review is from: Mammals of Ontario (Paperback)
I love this mammal book and refer to it regularly when observing creatures in my yard. Each animal is shown with a very detailed colour painting and information is given about range (Ontario) size, height, weight, etc., along with a description, habitat where it lives and food. Drawings of the animal tracks are also shown on each page. There is also a description with general information about each mammal. This provides information about nesting, raising of young, burrow & den making, etc. I had to laugh when I saw the Virginia Opossum included as an Ontario mammal, and it's our only marsupial as well (I've seen them in my back yard at night). The book covers mammals from elk to mice, voles and moles. An excellent book to use as a resource or for projects or just for info about mammals in general. The paintings are enlarged and there are the occasional colour photograph as well. An excellent book.

We have several Lone Pine Guides and find them very helpful. My grandkids love to look through them and identify the animals
