About the Author

Steven Raichlen is America’s “master griller” (Esquire). His books have won James Beard and IACP awards and his last, Planet Barbecue!, was a New York Times bestseller. Articles by him appear regularly in The New York Times, Food & Wine, and Bon Appe´tit, and for the past dozen years he teaches the sold-out Barbecue University, first at the Greenbrier and currently at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. He and his wife live in Miami and on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.

Another great book from Steven June 16 2014

Steven Raichlen books are informative and well written, and most importantly his recipes are wonderful (both to make and to eat). Despite not being the target market (I'm not a guy), I've used this book for the past week and highly recommend it.

Who says you can't cook June 14 2014

I would be afraid to cook for someone before I read Raichlen's book. His books have sparked an interest in barbequing and have even impressed some of my friends with some of the meals that I have prepared. I strongly recommend any of his books.

Excellent book! Dec 12 2014
By Toothsquatch - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
I checked this book out at the Library first and decided it was a must have for home. Steven is well known for his BBQ knowledge and this book is not strictly BBQ. It is a book that encompasses all kinds of cooking techniques and references several other well known Chefs. It is a must have for any cookbook shelf. It is for guys what the Joy of Cooking was for the ladies of the prior decades. True man recipes. It would be an excellent gift for the college guy that is going to have his own place. Great book for a Dad that loves to cook all kinds of things. Well written and I knew within the first 15 minutes of reading through it that I would have to buy it.

I am sure that if you love to cook and BBQ as much as I do, that you will welcome this book to your shelf...though it probably won't sit on it very long.
