With wisdom the publishers actually commissioned a team of Japanese manga writers/illustrators to develop this and the result is awesome. There are other animated Bibles but this one really is the best. It is illustrated in a style faithful to manga genre from Japan and familiar to todays youth and it is also VERY faithful to the biblical narrative itself.
I highly recommend this as well as Manga Mutiny and Manga Messiah to everyone. Particularly parents, youth pastors and children's ministries. Very well done. The publisher's goal is to animate the entire biblical narrative so stay tuned.

After reading Manga Messiah I just had to buy this one. I have to say this was an amazing read. There are references on each page, so you can follow along with a Bible. And the message is not watered down at all.
One reason it is so well done and accurate to the Bible is that the company is non-profit. So I definitely recommend this for every teen that is into Mangas and those that aren't. Everyone I know that starts reading it gets hooked.

I was looking forward to Manga Metamorphosis with great anticipation after getting Manga Messiah (which was amazing!). This book seeks to be true to the Bible just like the first book. It's simplified so that it is a more accessible missionary tool as well as easier to understand for those who have never read scripture. The quality of the entire package, illustrations, text, computer coloring and presentation is top notch. There are other Christian graphic novels, but I don't know of any (in english) which stand up to Manga Messiah and Manga Metamorphosis. I also like that the company sends hundreds of copies to places not as exposed to the Bible in hopes of helping to spread the Word. This is a great book for those who read the Bible regularly and those who have never read it. Get Both BOOKS!

I wish I had these when I was growing up. These two manga novels (Manga Messiah and Manga Metamorphosis) are awesome. They are translated from the original Japanese and drawn in genuine manga style (manga basically means Japanese comic book). The art is fantastic and they endeavoured to make it as accurate as possible, including scripture references at the bottom of each page.
They are the size of a standard paperback book, and just as thick with full-colour art on every page. You don't have to be a teen to enjoy these, they really bring to life the events in the New Testament. Manga Messiah details Jesus's life in the gospels, while Manga Metamorphosis is the entire book of Acts (that's Paul on the front cover), plus illustrated summary versions of Paul's letters.
Our heroes of the Faith never looked more awesome. Highly recommended for all.

I love this idea of Bible manga and my kids did, too. I bought multiple copies to give away, one being a Christian friend who works with local prisoners on a regular basis. After reading bible text for many years, seeing a beautifully done, graphic interpretation of the stories you know well is a fresh experience. I highly recommend!
