Product Description

From Library Journal

Self-actualization guru Dyer has a talent for appropriating age-old spiritual concepts and marketing them with buzzwords like "spiritual manifestation." Here he outlines nine principles for manifesting spiritual destiny, which appears to be synonymous with getting everything we want. According to Dyer, if we can just get out of our ego's reach, the power of the universe would act in us to bring us everything we truly desire. By putting worthy spiritual ideals to the service of personal power, Dyer subverts the meaning of unconditional love, seeing it as the means to an end rather than a worthy end in itself. Buy only where Dyer's books are in demand.

From Booklist

Best-selling author Dyer says this title is different from any other he's written, but his 1992 book, Real Magic, was also about "using your invisible self to influence physical reality." Here, the message is muddled. On one hand, he tells readers that inner peace should be their greatest goal, but, on the other hand, he offers techniques designed to attain more worldly objectives, like a new job. There's lots about meditating and chanting, and he supplies distillations from A Course in Miracles, but ultimately, the volume veers close to the low end of New Age gobbledygook. Still, Dyer's name and a marketing push are likely to generate requests. Order this book as demand dictates, but for a better, more down-to-earth approach to the subject of attaining one's goals through creative manifestation, tell readers to check out Sonia Choquette's Your Heart's Desire, reviewed on p.1071. 3.0 out of 5 stars Dr. Feelgood is Pulling OUR Strings, Aug 17 2007
This review is from: Manifest Your Destiny (Paperback)
I'm starting to think that Wayne Dyer is pulling our strings!

Where I live public TV of late has become one big infomercial new age clearing house and Dyer is the King. While he was prancing around the stage looking, as someone pointed out, like Marlon Brando in "Apocalypse Now," I finally found the strength to turn off his crazy making New Age nonsense.

According to his [il]logic homeless suicidal people must be the most evolved. Only someone as priviliged as Dyer could actually believe he's helping not harming ordinary people with this brain killing nonsense. Notice the new age has a built in defense of irrationalism against any who might criticise it. Very 1984 or Brave New World don't you think?

1.0 out of 5 stars Silly spiritual nonsense, Jan 16 2007
By
Gobifish (Ottawa, Ontario) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Manifest Your Destiny (Paperback)
I borrowed this book from the library after reading "Pulling Your Own Strings" by the same author. While "Pulling Your Own Strings" was an amusing book that offered practical advice, the same cannot be said for "Manifest Your Destiny". This, and the rest of Dr. Wayne Dyer's more recent writings, are nothing more than feel-good claptrap. It is hard to imagine any clear-thinking adult, whether religious or not, taking this book seriously. It represents the worst excesses of both the self-help and the spiritualist movements. If you're not a regular worshipper at the alter of the New Age Cult of Self Esteem, you will toss this book aside after a few chapters. Only a true self-help junkie craving yet another fix could possibly want to read this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Finished Reading but Still dont know how to Manifest......, May 10 2004
This review is from: Manifest Your Destiny (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought the book because title attracted me & author was Wayne Dyer.I think this was dyers failed attempt. He is running short of ideas & still wanna write a book.

No new ideas.Same old Stuff.9 principles,Deatailed explaination But no exact idea of how to apply them together like a plan.

If we want something then how can we detach ourself from it.Its very difficult I think. If you are detached that means you relly dont want them.

God!I dont know what else to say.I gave three stars because there is something to read even if it is very little.

Better read Joe Vitale's Spiritual Marketing than this.
