Book Description

Oct. 1 2011 Wayne County

Fans of superb Amish fiction will welcome the rich and moving stories of The Wayne County series by Mary Ellis, the bestselling author of Abigail's New Hope, Never Far from Home, and The Way to a Man's Heart.

Meghan Yost is 19, bright, and eager to prove to her father, the bishop, that she's mature enough to teach in the Old Order district. But just when Meghan gains confidence and assurance, a troubled student challenges her authority and a male suitor challenges her patience.

Life and love tensions escalate when a string of crimes threaten the Amish community, and handsome FBI agent Thomas Mast arrives to investigate.

Is there truth behind Meghan's fear that she's the cause for disruptions in the serene county? And is there true love behind her mixed feelings for Thomas, the outsider?

This is a timeless story of personal quests for hope, love, and enduring faith.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Marriage for Meghan Dec 12 2011
By Lollipops - Published on Amazon.com
Meghan Yost has dreamed of becoming a school teacher all her life. When the current teacher must resign because she is expecting a baby, Meghan begs for the job. But her father, the bishop, is hesitant to hire her because Meghan is young and flighty, spending more time playing with children than engaging in more womanly activities.

Her father finally agrees to let Meghan have the job of assistant teacher if her sister takes the main teaching position. Meghan is thrilled. But then a string of hate crimes against the Amish occur. Her brothers are beaten, the school is vandalized, fences cut, and crops destroyed. Since the local police believe that the Amish are targeted, they call in the FBI to investigate.

Thomas Mast is sent to do the work in Amish country. As the low man in the FBI totem pole he gets the jobs no one else wants. But the Amish refuse to press charges, and with little to nothing to go on, Thomas doesn't know how he can solve this mystery. Meanwhile, the hate crimes continue, getting more vicious and hateful each time. Will Thomas find the guilty party? Will Meghan prove her worth as a teacher?

A MARRIAGE FOR MEGHAN is the second book in Mary Ellis' The Wayne County Series set in Ohio. Meghan is a teenager, active, and impulsive, and anxious to find her own way, even hurting those who get in her way. There are other points of view included in this story - Thomas Mast, who has a secret of his own; The bishop's, who is making some controversial decisions; Meghan's sister, Catherine, who is the new head teacher and had to leave her beau to do so...

A MARRIAGE FOR MEGHAN is a great read. It does start out a little slow but it quickly picks up. I couldn't put this book down. The ending isn't all neatly tied up, so I think Meghan's story will probably be continued as a secondary character in the third book of this series. Fans of Amish fiction won't want to miss A MARRIAGE FOR MEGHAN. Discussion questions are included at the end of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic A must read Sept. 30 2011
By L. Klobucher - Published on Amazon.com
"A Marriage for Megan" is AWESOME it is a book once you start it you will not be satisfied until the very last page, Mary Ellis is a wonderful author I love her style of writing and I love her characters, Megan in this book is so bubbly and she wants to prove that she is an adult and not some little goose who has to be taken care of, and with the Lord she is on her way, if I could I would give this book a 10 I would
If you love a good amish mystery and love story you will love this book as I did. You will also love the way Megan and Jacob get along, or maybe not get along
I stayed up until after midnight to read this book and I am up every morning by 4:30AM but I didn't care because the book is sooooooooo good

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing Dec 2 2011

Refreshing reminder of true love. This book gave me hope and encouragement that true love still lives in the heart of women and men. It is okay to be independent but it is also okay to love with all your heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meghan is a Gem Oct. 6 2011
By Rose Blue - Published on Amazon.com
Being a schoolteacher is her dream, but can she handle a classroom when she still seems like a kid? Her father would rather she marry; does he really think marriage holds less responsbility? Her earnestness and high spirits don't always go hand in hand as she tries to prove herself to the skeptics. When a crime spree brings FBI Agent Mast to town, Meghan's relationship with him keeps the pages turning.
