As for the infamous uproar about the ending of the trilogy, don't give too much thought about it. I found the ending very sufficient (of course with extended cut DLC). Yeah you could sense a bit of laziness in the execution of the endings but the implications are vastly different.
I see myself replaying the series and doing multiple runs to see how things will run given the different choices. I already do that on a micro-level when an event seems interesting so I just load and redo the scene and I am pretty sure you would.
You also get some of the DLCs with the trilogy so that's a plus (ME1 & ME2 only)
If you are a fan of RPG, get this! It's got one hell of a story.
Sure, the ending of the third game could be better, but it's about the journey, not the destination. Be sure to download the extended cut ending off of PSN (it's free as of right now). You're cheating yourself if you haven't played these games.
This trilogy pack is the only way to get a psychical copy of the first game on PS3 (you can now get a download of it on PSN) since the series was 360/PC exclusive for such a long time. You can get the second and third game on their own on PS3, and for a long time I didn't want to play the games unless I could play the first one.... so they finally put this out!
Packaging is decent. The games are in a folding cardboard and plastic case. It has a cardboard slip cover that tends to get damaged on the edges after sliding the games in and out over time, which is probably my biggest gripe with it since I like to keep my stuff looking nice.
Mass Effect 1 does feel a bit dated, but it has a fantastic story. Mass Effect 2 fixes all of the problems in Mass Effect 1 and it has some of the best characters and character development I've ever seen in a game. Mass Effect 3 has the best gameplay overall and it has some of the most emotional scenes and it does a fantastic job of giving you a sense of impending doom. Out of the three games, Mass Effect 2 is my favourite.
Overall, check this trilogy out. It's worth every penny. These are some of the best games released in the last fifteen years, right here. Be sure to check out the DLC as well, as it's also quite good.
I only have one beef, that one of the DLC codes provided for ME2 didn't work.
The games themselves are by far one of the best science fiction rpg franchises out there. You can literally log hundreds of hours into them and continue wanting to play them. Mass effect is visually stunning, the dialogue and storyline is captivating and well written. The gameplay is unique, fun and easy to get the hang of and also allows the player to experiment with different combinations of attack strategies as well as attack combinations.
I could go on and on about this game franchise. Just buy it, it will not dissapoint you.

Love the dragon age games, so knew I wanted to play ME some day. Have been saving this trilogy for years like a fine wine (also, was hoping for a PS4 remaster that never happened). Read morePublished 1 month ago by R. Harrison

Great collection - first game runs well on the PS3 (haven't tried the rest, but this is the notoriously badly ported game of the 3 of them, so it's exciting it works!)Published 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
Truly a wonderful game that is worth the wait and the price.
If you are a die hard fan of bioware and their other titles then then this trilogy is for you.
