A friend of mine suggested this series for me and I can't thank him enough! Seeing how your choices affect the story so far is just amazing.

As for the infamous uproar about the ending of the trilogy, don't give too much thought about it. I found the ending very sufficient (of course with extended cut DLC). Yeah you could sense a bit of laziness in the execution of the endings but the implications are vastly different.

I see myself replaying the series and doing multiple runs to see how things will run given the different choices. I already do that on a micro-level when an event seems interesting so I just load and redo the scene and I am pretty sure you would.

You also get some of the DLCs with the trilogy so that's a plus (ME1 & ME2 only)

If you are a fan of RPG, get this! It's got one hell of a story.

I can't recommend this enough. You NEED to play this trilogy. It is probably one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had and this series has easily become one of my favourites.

Sure, the ending of the third game could be better, but it's about the journey, not the destination. Be sure to download the extended cut ending off of PSN (it's free as of right now). You're cheating yourself if you haven't played these games.

This trilogy pack is the only way to get a psychical copy of the first game on PS3 (you can now get a download of it on PSN) since the series was 360/PC exclusive for such a long time. You can get the second and third game on their own on PS3, and for a long time I didn't want to play the games unless I could play the first one.... so they finally put this out!

Packaging is decent. The games are in a folding cardboard and plastic case. It has a cardboard slip cover that tends to get damaged on the edges after sliding the games in and out over time, which is probably my biggest gripe with it since I like to keep my stuff looking nice.

Mass Effect 1 does feel a bit dated, but it has a fantastic story. Mass Effect 2 fixes all of the problems in Mass Effect 1 and it has some of the best characters and character development I've ever seen in a game. Mass Effect 3 has the best gameplay overall and it has some of the most emotional scenes and it does a fantastic job of giving you a sense of impending doom. Out of the three games, Mass Effect 2 is my favourite.

Overall, check this trilogy out. It's worth every penny. These are some of the best games released in the last fifteen years, right here. Be sure to check out the DLC as well, as it's also quite good.

Yesterday I finished Mass Effect 3 and I had time to reflect on my experience playing this trilogy as a whole. These games are AMAZING, from start to finish all three games connect together effortlessly. Yes the first game does seem old compared to the second and third but it is still a must play in-order to familiarize yourself with the awesome cast and crew. Overall you get three awesome games that have replay ability and legendary status in the PlayStation world.

I finally got to finish first Mass Effect thanks to this trilogy and I couldn't be happier, the fact that decisions you make during the first game have so much affect on the second game is amazing.

I only have one beef, that one of the DLC codes provided for ME2 didn't work.

I have always loved playstation over xbox, the only thing in my opinion that ps3 was lacking was this series. I am glad they put it one boxed set. Although mine arrived damaged, the boxed set is packaged nicely, all three discs in their own housing folding out as you open it making each game easily accessible.
The games themselves are by far one of the best science fiction rpg franchises out there. You can literally log hundreds of hours into them and continue wanting to play them. Mass effect is visually stunning, the dialogue and storyline is captivating and well written. The gameplay is unique, fun and easy to get the hang of and also allows the player to experiment with different combinations of attack strategies as well as attack combinations.
I could go on and on about this game franchise. Just buy it, it will not dissapoint you.

I loved this trilogy. I had heard things about this game but only played it recently and i have got to say that I was blown away. This trilogy is simply amazing. If you are into alien sci-fi at all then these are the games for you. I would say that it is really good value as well. All the games in the trilogy plus some bonus content on ME 2 and 3. One other important thing about these games. You will want to replay them. I am not really a guy who replays games but this is one series i will be going back to soon. That is how good it is.

Taken as a whole, I think the Mass Effect trilogy makes a strong argument for being one of the greatest games ever made. An action/role-playing epic (120+ hours) that spans the galaxy, minor shortcomings are made up with relentless ambition in scope, magnitude and emotional range. It starts slowly, and builds gradually into a juggernaut of a game. I look forward to whatever Bioware does next.
