There’s one complication, though. The new police-dog handler, Faith Weston, is sexy enough to bring out the animal in any man…

What a Rush!,
By
This review is from: Master of Wolves (Mass Market Paperback)
Angela Knight has brought her Mageverse series into full shining glory with this latest installment. Blending the perfect mix of erotic romance, fascinating characters and pulse pounding action, "Master of Wolves" is the best and most solid read that Knight has penned yet. A brief quote on the cover calls her a "rising star". How wrong they are. She's already a star shining very brightly in the romance book industry and her latest book is sure to please any fan of the paranormal subgenre.Faith Weston is a dedicated K-9 officer with the Clarkston, NC police department. When she gets an anonymous donation of a fully trained police dog she's not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. Soon she and her new friend Rambo are busting drug abusers and all seems well within the confines of the small town. Rumors abound though of the town's jail, tales of people going in and not coming out alive. Such occurances are one reason Jim London has come town. He's set on finding his fellow werewolf's murderer and he comes up with the plan to go undercover - as Faith's furry sidekick Rambo. What he doesn't count on is her no-nonsense sense of justice, sexy body and honest heart. With death magic looming everywhere and a police department turned rogue, Faith won't stand down till she's solved the mystery. Just as adamate that Faith will not be harmed, Jim has no choice but to reveal himself to her. Faith and Jim will have to team up to find out who has the town's police in there thrall and when the going gets tough, the tough will get furry. Fast-paced, action-packed and full of great signature Knight style romance, her latest is packing what everyone has come to love about her books. From the first page till the last, you will not want to put this one down. Faith is a great heroine. She's strong, independant, loyal and passionate. She's a little heart sore as well, but that's where Jim comes in. Readers will feel good about Faith's welfare with the sexy alpha Dire Wolf looking over her. He may be alpha, but he's not afraid to let Faith in on the action. He's charming, to-die-for drool worthy and all of Faith's descriptions of his rear...well, let me get back on track here. Together, they make one of the more enjoyable romance couples I've read about in a while. While both are jump-right-into-the-action types they still make plenty of room for each other, sharing the roles of hero and heroine equally. The opposition (a.k.a. the "bad guys") was equally as interesting and actually gave Jim and Faith a run for their money. I loved every minute of Knight's latest and still did not want to see it come to an end. Not that I didn't love her others in the series, but "Master of Wolves" lands them all solidly on my keeper shelf. Stay tuned for the next in the series, "Master of Swords" (Oct. '06) about Sir Gawain. Excellent tale, Ms. Knight. Many sighs of sated romance reading appreciation!

GREAT STORY PREMISE, WEIRD WORLD BUILDING,

This review is from: Master of Wolves (Mass Market Paperback)
Wow, okay so in Angela Knight's weird, out there `mageverse' world King Arthur is a vampire, Camelot's Merlin is an alien, and everyone is searching for the black grail. There's a fairy king, some witches, Guinevere (also a vampire) shows up and she`s horny, we visit the round table, Avalon, and watch an entire police department get taken over by magic while officer Faith Weston gets it on with her K-9 partner Rambo who also happens to be a werewolf-shifter posing as a German shepherd. All this takes place in the alternate universe known as Angela Knight's acid trip. The thing is though Master Of Wolves has a great premise and the writing is really good; peppered with comedy, action and smoking hot love scenes (although they do breathe "Oh god" into each others mouth every single time they get it on.) So if it weren't for all the magic and bizarre world building this would have been a pretty good read, as it was I did really enjoy parts of it. The parts that had nothing to do with mageverse that is, skimming over almost all of the King Arthur scenes and just concentrating on Jim and Faith in the `real' world. Jim London is a werewolf/shifter, when his best friend Tony gets killed while in police custody he goes undercover as a K-9 drug dog to find out the real story behind his murder. Partnered up with officer Faith Weston the sparks fly immediately but Jim has to keep his paws to himself. When Jim and Faith get caught up in the vampires and magic wreaking havoc on Clarkson police department this brings out the animal in Faith and changes her forever. Unfortunately this fairly cool idea gets way overshadowed by too much magic and fantasy. I mean come on aliens, vampires, King Arthur, the Holy Grail, Excalibur it was actually funny at times. One of my biggest problems with fantasy is that the author writes the world rules as they go along, or for convenience to the plotline wherein there are no rules. This was a big issue for me here as explained in the following quote; "PFM" "Which is?" "Pure freaking magic. It turned the men into vampires, and the women into witches. Collectively they're the magekind." "Wait a minute-- the chick that wants to sacrifice us is connected to King Arthur?" Faith opened her beer and took a sip. "Hell no, different bunch of vampires all together. She's one of the bad vamps. Arthur and his bunch are the good vamps who are trying to catch them." "And we're werewolves?" She rolled her eyes "Do you ever have trouble believing all this s#*%?" -No, no trouble at all. Cheers

A Steamy Read!,

This review is from: Master of Wolves (Mass Market Paperback)
Faith Weston is a police officer and head of the K-9 unit of the Clarkston Police Department. Things are not right in her city. There have been some unusual deaths that can't be explained and her superior doesn't seem to want her to investigate the strange cult-like murders. When she goes on a call and doesn't wait for back up...going so far as to leave Rambo her dog in the car Faith finds out what secrets the Clarkston police department are hiding and her life is going to change in ways she could ever imagine.Jim London is a werewolf and he is working undercover as "Rambo" in order to find his best friends killer. He has a tough job ahead of him because he can't help but be attracted to the beautiful and sexy Faith. But will he be able to stop the evil that has found its way into the town of Clarkston and protect the one woman he could care about? This was an entertaining paranormal as only Ms. Knight can write. Jim and Faith were strong and likable characters with sizzling chemistry that will warm the reader. Ms. Knight has again provided loyal readers a fine read that is both satisfying and unique.
