I really liked seeing the walk through from basic saw setup to actual applications. I am new to the world of table saws and find the video to be invaluable. I have worked with many saws but just never a table saw and all the stories and horror stories made me nervous. I feel much more confident after watching this video (on my second time now). I would have given it 5 stars but the DVD cracked the first time I took it out of the case - cheap plastic media and a really tight case. I also bought Taunton's Complete Illustrated Guide to Tablesaws and have found them both very helpful.

I just finished watching this video for the first time, and I thought it was excellent in every respect. Kelly Mehler not only knows his subject, he knows how to explain the different ways to use the table saw in a clear way. I am a beginner woodworker and I appreciate Taunton Press having made this DVD available.

As a beginner to woodworking in general and tablesaws, I wanted to learn as much as I could about the tablesaws before purchasing and even more importantly turning one on first.I found this video to be a great guide on the concepts of how to setup, adjust and align a table saws, the importance of having well aligned blade and fence not only for the quality of the cuts, but perhaps even more importantly the safe operation of the tool.
Mr. Mehler's style is laid back, confident and friendly, while keeping things interesting and well paced.
Highly recommended. In fact, it should be a requirement that anyone turning on a tablesaw for the first time, the watch this video. And even after that it would be a good idea to pop this in the DVD player from time to time for refresher.
