Masters of the Burial by Amy Millan
now this album is a vast improvement on her previous album. More deep, better music and stronger lyrics. i also love the cover. her vocals seemed to have changed, she does not sound so young. her melodies are more mature. i think the alternative folk/country is her thing. no more pop country. check her out.

A beautiful record by one of the most talented singers around. Amy Millan, vocalist for Stars, once again delivers on a solo effort. The musical arrangements are beautiful, the lyrics are deep, and the overall mood is perfect for a Sunday afternoon. I'm glad I was finally able to get my hands on a copy of this record.

5.0 out of 5 stars Underappreciated and stronger than recent Stars material, Oct 26 2011

This solo outing from one of Stars' vocalists is beautiful and heartfelt. In my opinion, the recent albums by Stars have been a bit cheesy and lacking in emotional gravity. This album has the strong melodies of Stars, without their recent cheesiness. This album has country touches not present on the albums by Stars, but it isn't overwhelming. I think this album compares favorably to recent releases by female indie pop superstars like Feist and Jenny Lewis, and it deserves a lot more attention.

This album was my introduction to Amy Millan, and I'm hooked. Great folksy voice, sound, and lyrics.
