This whole Math Counts series is great! They are a fun, easy way to introduce kids as early as 3 (my son's age) to math concepts. The large colorful photographs of everyday things help reinforce the different concepts. It helps kids to see the differenes in length, shapes in everyday things, patterns in things all around them, etc. Not too wordy, but great at getting the point accross.

I prepared a lesson with this book for a bilingual class and it worked very good. The children really grasped the idea of length. Very good book!!!!

The dated and often faded photos in this book could be overlooked if the content was either more concise or focused. For example, it never shows either an inch or a centimeter, although it says they are used to measure small things. I prefer How Long or How Wide?: A Measuring Guide by Brian P. Cleary and Brian Gable.
