Product Description

"There is a battle before us. It is the battle for good and evil. It is a battle for truth and for the greater purpose to be revealed. Something that the world and the enemy will fight against to the end. It is a battle for the destruction of the Matrix." From the book Matrix Reflections, Eddie Zacapa "I would recommend this book to anyone who is seeking to understand how to make sense out of life." Dave Medders - Director, The Foundation For Christian Discipleship and Campus Ventures Do we live in a dream world? The Matrix Reflections acts as a tool, a mirror, a key that unlocks some answers to the very questions that we encounter throughout our lives. It invites us to take a journey, like Neo, the hero of the films, to discover the truth about our world and it's illusions. Come and explore the Matrix films deeper and discover the answers to the Big Questions of life. "It has a definite youth feel and is totally relevant! It will challenge students to think deeper." Charlton Scullard - Pastor of Student Ministries, Twin Oaks Church

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent insights, Aug 2 2005
By Lewis M. Greer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Matrix Reflections: Choosing Between Reality and Illusion (Paperback)
From the time I saw the first Matrix movie I knew a book like this had to be written, and of course I wasn't the only one who had that thought.

Matrix Reflections is not alone in finding hidden meanings in one or more of the movies in the Matrix trilogy, but it is unique in form and style and would make an excellent study guide for any fan of the Matrix movies interested in exploring the parallels between what the movies have to say and what the Bible has to say. In fact, it would be a great tool for a church youth group (older kids) who wanted to have a movie review followed by some study sessions.

Pulling from the red pill/blue pill question, the author follows each section with a "red page" of questions. Designed to spur deeper thinking whether used alone or in a group, these questions are ultimately there to help the reader see truth.

But perhaps the best feature of the book are the scripture selections which follow each insight from the movies. Assuming you haven't seen inside the book, I'll explain. Organizationally there are six sections in the book which loosely follow the arc of the movies. Each of those sections is further divided into a series of one page readings, starting with a snippet of dialog, followed by interpretive insights into that dialog, followed by a verse or two from the Bible. These are so well selected that they add to the already well written insights.

NB: I worked with the author of this book as he was preparing his work for publication and spent quite a few hours helping him with any number of issues, including the design of an electronic version of the book. All of that work was done gratis, however, and while I have no financial interest in the book I still hope you'll buy it, use it, and benefit from it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Matrix for Real, Oct 19 2005
By Karl R. Ortis - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Matrix Reflections: Choosing Between Reality and Illusion (Paperback)
When I bought Matrix Reflections I knew what it was about but I wasn't sure what it was about. Being a Matrix trilogy fan I thought it might be a good read. Well I wasn't disappointed. Mr. Zacapa has both good insight and good writing skills. As noted by reviewer Greer the layout of the book itself is well done.

I particularly enjoyed the interplay of the movie's dialogue, this author's reflections and the ancient dialogue of God in Holy Scripture. The Matrix movies have a sort of ancient-future quality and Mr. Zacapa captures this well while bringing real concerns to the reader's heart.

A good buy! Good bye!
