Product Description

From Amazon.com

It would be impossible--and unfair--to expect The Matrix Reloaded to surpass the dizzying special effects, philosophical mind-twisters, and wicked sci-fi mayhem of the first Matrix movie. The same holds true for its soundtrack sequel which, like the original, sets an ominous atmosphere with industrial beats, in-your-face metal riffs, and supersonic computerized techno. Highlights include Linkin Park's swirling morass of scratches, stutters and keyboards; the grooves thrown down by Oakenfold and Fluke that party with the gloom of a burned-out factory; and Rob Zombie, P.O.D., and Marilyn Manson's explosive, brain-bending digi-rock. Unfortunately, for the most part, the dark patches of Reloaded plod rather than soar (the Deftones' murky "Lucky You"), and rehash tired ideas instead of creating new frontiers (an Oakenfold remix of Dave Matthews Band that sticks out like khaki pants at a goth club). Surprisingly monotonous, Reloaded is unfortunately yet another second act that pales in comparison to its predecessor. --Annie Zaleski

Chronique amazon.fr

--Jean-Christophe Arlon

4.0 out of 5 stars Not nearly enough, May 21 2003

Much like the first time around, the score fan gets shafted by the soundtrack. While there is more material here this time (45 minutes, plus if there's any material on disc 1 that is used, versus 32 minutes for the first movie), it's still a drop in the bucket compared to the available material.

That said, Don Davis's score holds up to what he wrote for The Matrix. If you felt that you got your money's worth last time around, then get this; otherwise, you'll be better off hoping for a score-centric release.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reloaded and Ready, May 11 2003
This review is from: The Matrix Reloaded (Audio CD)
Breakdown of the songs:

"Session"-Linkin Park: This is an ok song. Personally, not what I feel is the best on the album.

"This is the new sh**"-Marilyn Manson: I love the song. It has some interesting background music. One of my favorites on the album.

"Reload"-Rob Zombie:A really good Zombie song. It sounds a bit techno but still heavy with a traditional zombie sound. A Great Track!!

"Furious Angels"-Rob Dougan: It is another ok song. Sounds a bit too much like his last one for the original matrix soundtrack.

"Lucky you"-Deftones: I love this song! It sounds really sexy to me, with a interesting combination of vocals and music. Possibly the best song on the album.

"The Passportal"-Team Sleep: I really enjoy this one. It is a hip techno/adventure song to me. I can see Neo and Trinity heading off to face the world with this song.

"Sleeping Awake"-POD: Another alright song. I don't love it but i don't hate it. It starts off good but gets a little soft. With me either rock out and stay that way or stay soft.

"Bruises"-Unloco: If you want to rock out, this is your song. I have heard a few of their songs before. This one is one of their better ones.

"Calm Like a bomb"-Rage: I have never been a large rage fan. Every album has a bad song, and for the matrix reloaded, this one is it.

"Dread Rock"-Oakenfold: I am a big techno fan and i love oakenfold. Great song

"Zion"-Fluke: I have never heard of them but I love this song. Another great one.

"When the world ends"-Dave Matthews Band: Great song remixed. Another one of my favorites! This is one of the best.

Conclusion: The cd is worth having. A few songs are lackluster but overall, this is a must for the cd collection. it is filled with all genres of music, for the hardcore fan. I love an album with variety.
