4.0 out of 5 stars a quick read but a good read July 15 2004
Format:Paperback
This book was a good read although it is very short. The book is well worth it though. It basically tells about a young girl who once had a best friend that turned on her because she found a new group of friends she didnt like. Her boyfriend also plays a lead in this story as the young, talented, fine, Hakeem whom her so called best friend is after. the whole situation gets realy twisted, but in the end every thing happens for the good which tells you that not all sticky situations come off at the bottom of the pit. This is a good book for young teens who don't know about the outcomes of phonies in high school and how they should be the bigger person regardless of how rotten the other person treats them.Everyday life learned lessons are put into this book for young people.

Format:Paperback
This book is different than other books. It really just explains what teenage girls go through with their enemies. It also explains how your friends can really betray you by doing things that uupset you. This book was about how a young grade school girl (Dracy) got betrayed from her x-friend (Brisona) when Brisona tried to take Darcy's boyfriend (Hakeem). Hakeem is a good student and smart but when he gets in front of a lot of people to do a report then he gets nervous and begins to stutter. That is why all the kids make fun of him and call him dumb. Brisona doesn't really like Hakeem though. She just wants to get back at Darcy for becoming bestfriends with 2 other you young grade school kids who go by the name of Tarah and Cooper. There was a talent show coming up and Darcy encouraged Hakeem to join the talent show because when he was a beutiful singer and guitar player. She also encouraged him because when he sung he did not stutter. So he said that he would do it if Darcy would do it to.

5.0 out of 5 stars A 5 Star Book Nov 21 2005
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com

I read A Matter of Trust by Anne Schrall. The main characters in this book are Darcy, Brisanna, Hakeem, and Randall. A main event from this book is when Randall got shot at Tarah's birthday party in the park. It was a drive-by shooting. Another main event from the book is when Hakeem had a track meet that was important to make his father proud of him. He came in second place, and his father seemed disappointed. I wanted to read this book because the cover and title caught my attention. Both boys and girls from 13-17 would enjoy this book. The theme of this book is "you can always have more than one best friend."

In my opinion, this book was sometimes funny and sometimes sad. One of my favorite parts of the book was when Aunt Charlotte tried to put the grandmother in a nursing home and made Darcy's mother feel bad. I liked it because the way that Darcy and her little sister snapped back and said that their grandmother was not a burden on their lives. Another part I liked was when Darcy and Hakeem went to the hospital to help Randall's mom because Hakeem felt responsible for what had happened. A part I did not like in the story was when Darcy saw Brisanna riding on the back of Hakeem's motorcycle and she was jealous. Brisanna was trying to get back at Darcy because Darcy was hanging out with Tarah and Cooper.

This is one of my favorite books. I can read it over and over again. I recommend it because it will keep you on the edge of your seat. It will make you want to read it in one day so you will know what happened.

A Matter of Trust By: Anne Schraff

The book is mainly about trust. The author's purpose of writing the story is mainly to say to trust people even if you do not want to. The main characters in novel are Brisana Meeks, Darcy Wills, and Hakeem Randall. Darcy and Hakeem are dating and they think that trust is big factor in a relationship. Brisana Meeks is a trouble maker who loves to make people angry. My favorite character is Darcy because she learned to put her trust in people and let them learn to trust her. She also learned to forgive and forget all the hurtful things people have done to her. You can learn to relate to other people through the things they have been through. I would recommend this book to people who like to read romantic, suspenseful, and comedy books. I would also recommend this book to both male and female teenagers who like to read.
