I'm doing a report on the book Mattimeo. It was published in1990. The aothor is Brian Jacques. He is one of my insparations to write. I think that he is one of the best writers in the world. The main characters are Mattimeo and his dad Mathias.Mathias is the Redall warior.Redwall is an abbey in a country called Mossflower. Mossflower is a big forest, and all of the creatures in it are characters.Mattimeo and Mathias are mice, but that is only one type creature. there are moles, rats, squirles, otters and many more. This wonderful novel is about an evi fox named Slagar the Cruel taking revenge on Mathias by kidnapping Mattimeo and other young redwallers to sell them as slaves, and lure Mathias out of Redwall so he can kill him slowly and paifully to show him the torture he once went through. Slagar had once battled against Mathias, and Mathias won.Mathias had burned Slagars face into a crinkled mess. It looked so horrible that he wore a mask over it. After Slagar kills Mathias by burying him alive Mattimeo solmely swears that he will kill Slagar. But is Mathias really dead?...No!Friends dig him out and join the journey. So they make new friends, and have no idea of what adventures they will go through together. After everything they all get home safe.I think the moral of this story is to never give up, and they learn to use what they have while they have it, and to give respect while they can.Mattimeo changes by becoming braver, stronger, and more obedient to his father Mathias who changes by giving more respect to Mattimeo. Mattimeo ,thebook, is one of fifteen stupendis tales of the series of Redwall.I thought this book was so wonderous because it had so many types of books put into one.It had comedy,a lot of action, and just a bit of sadness. I thought it was so good that I wish it was fifty times longer.I absolutely loved the book Mattimeo.

Mattimeo is an interesting book about a young mouse called Mattiemo. He is the son of Matthias, champion of Redwall. This book starts out peaceful with everyone enjoying the day. Then Slagar the Cruel arrives. He tricks the Redwallers into letting his horde in. He then drugs all the drinks. As the knockout powder does its work Slagar takes many of the abbey's young ones, among them is Matthias's son, Mattimeo. Slagar chains them all and then rushes sought to the dreaded kingdom of Malkariss. Driven by rage and sorrow, Matthias, Jess Squirrel, and Basil Stag Hare go out to search. After searching a while, they are joined by Cheek, an otter that has an appetite of a hare. Then they are joined by Orlando the Axe, a badger, and Jabez Stump, a hedgehog, both also searching for their stolen children. Following the trail they run into a trap set by Slagar. However, they manage to pull through when Log-a-Log and his Guosim shrews arrive to help. Then they all travel together to capture and kill Slagar the Cruel and his slavers. Meanwhile, Redwall comes under attack by General Ironbeak and his ravens from the northern lands to conquer Redwall because they are getting old for life in the northern lands. In the end General Ironbeak is defeated and Redwall is saved. Matthias and his band are also successful but the good Log-a-Log is killed in battle. A new Log-a-Log has been chosen. Slagar the fox is killed when he falls into a well and remains trapped forever. Everyone, including the freed slaves, goes to Redwall and live there. Log-a-Log and his shrews come once every two seasons to visit. Mossflower is peaceful once again.

Once again a fantastic book that you can't help but read. The suspense, dialouge, adventure, and detail are nothing less than great. This magnetic plot will definitely keep you coming back for more. Just as any other excellent Redwall book would.
Have you ever noticed how different each story is? And there all so entertaining too. There's always a problem to be solved either in Redwall abbey or in Mossflower woods. But the solution does not come quickly. Better yet, the problem lingers until the last minute, and still there's plenty of time to display the solution and still make it just as interesting. Jacques never fails to make each book fascinating for the reader. Being from Liverpool, England, and speaking such a different language, makes his books unique. He manages to put some of the slang terms of Europe into lamen's terms to make every character not only amusing, but different from each other. The detail is also one of a kind. For example, have you ever noticed how good they make the food sound. You just want to jump into the book, and eat everything. But the detail is so good you almost feel like your in the book! You could be Mattimeo, Matthias, or even Slagar. The excitement never ends. Just like in the third book of the collection. It's story plot is different and unique in its own way. Whether it's the setting, the characters, or anything else it's perfect the way it was meant to be.
Each book has a secret of its own waiting to be revealed. Treat yourself by unlocking that secret. READ THIS BOOK!!! Or try any of the Redwall books. Trust me you'll enjoy every page!

Mattimeo is a good book to read. It is a continueing story of Redwall. Slager the Cruel plans to steal the babes of Redwall to have them as slaves. Slager's real name is Chickenhound, he was the son of a vixen who used to serve Cluny, but was killed by her as a traitor. He escaped and went to get his revenge on Redwall. When he took the babes amoung them was the valued one that he wanted the most Mattimeo, son of Matthias the warrior champion of Redwll.
The part that I liked the most was the part when Matthias battles an army with Orlando the Axe, hedgehogs, and the Guoism. Pretty good odds huh? Impossible, but they won in the end, probably because Log a Log and his shrews freed the slaves. The chains probably also served as a good weapon. Meanwhile, at Redwall Abbey, they were fighting against General Ironbeak and his birds. It wasn't a pretty sight.
At Redwall Abbey, the birds conquered everything except for Cavern Hole. Soon, the birds had 3 hostages, Cornflower and her mother, plus, baby Rollo. But then, the redwallers thought of a plan to capture the food gatherers of the birds. They soon made an exchange, but then, the birds attacked. At night, they thought of a trick and tricked the birds to thinking that a ghost is haunting them. In the end, the Redwallers won by slaying Ironbeak, this is why Mattimeo is a good book to read.
