Max Payne 3 Original Comic Series After The Fall (1 of 3) [PDF]

Product Description

Amazon.ca Product Description

For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out. Featuring cutting edge shooting mechanics for precision gunplay, advanced new Bullet Time® and Shootdodge™ effects, full integration of Natural Motion’s Euphoria Character Behavior system for lifelike movement and a dark and twisted story, Max Payne 3 is a seamless, highly detailed, cinematic experience from Rockstar Games. In addition to an expansive single-player campaign, Max Payne 3 will also be the first entry in the series to introduce a thorough and engrossing multiplayer experience. Max Payne 3 multiplayer brings the same cinematic feel, fluid gunplay and sense of movement of the single-player game into the realm of online multiplayer. Using the fiction and signature gameplay elements of the Max Payne universe, Max Payne 3 features a wide range of new and traditional multiplayer modes that play on the themes of paranoia, betrayal and heroism, all delivered with the same epic visual style of the single player game.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superior shooter May 16 2012
By Scott Flower TOP 500 REVIEWER
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Max Payne 3 can easily be described as one of the best 3rd person shooters ever. It combines a lot of current game mechanics with it's own old and new ones to give us a truly unique experience.

Rockstar has done it again by delivering us another fantastic story that you cannot wait to see how it turns out at the end. The story of Max Payne has come a long way and now instead of the revenge seeking has nothing to lose kind of guy he's become this self destructive drunk who is always throwing himself into harms way hoping someone kills him. Early in the story his boss' wife gets kidnapped and Max feels responsible for failing to protect her. The lengths this man will go to get his boss' wife back is astounding, he truly does care for her and that makes you want him to find her so bad. I wanted Max to find her and make her safe, my heart was pounding when Max is so close to getting her back. Not very many games can deliver an intense story that invokes an emotional response like that. The story is quite long and is paced perfectly throwing in whole back story levels when they are needed to show how Max got to where he is now and why he left New Jersey. Another great thing is the brief cutscenes that break up the gameplay and makes this feel more like your playing a movie.

The gameplay is solid and is always keeping things interesting. Bullet time is loads of fun and every piece of cover is destructible so you can't stay in the same spot to long. The game is always changing things up to keep this from being just another linear cover based shooter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the 9 year wait Jan. 25 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Verified Purchase
People waited 9 years for Max Payne 3 as it was delayed time and time again in development, but unlike say, Duke Nuke Em Forever---this game is definitely worth the wait.

The cut-scenes and bullet time sequences are awesome, and unlike games that use QUICKTIME effects--the bullet time is pretty fluid and your character won't die on you because you fail to hit the X in a stupid A, B, Y, A, B, Y, X sequence. Honestly developers gotta stop all the Quicktime battles, and none are to be found here.

Story is very gripping and you feel for Max and want to see him kick some butt. The game requires strategy and skill and can be challenging even on the lower difficulty settings.

But if you want a really good action/First Person Shooter kind of game, this is by far the game of 2012 as far as I am concerned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Max brings the Payne! Nov. 5 2012
By Harrison Banks TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
In the third installation to the Max series, Rockstar games returns to the limelight with a stylized, sleek game brimming with guns, gore, and substance abuse galore.

Back in the shoes of former cop Max Payne, we find him on the payroll of a wealthy brazilian family working bodyguard duty. But as it always seems to, trouble finds its way back to him. Shortly after, half the family is kidnapped by thugs and Max is on the chase again, running through nightclubs and the favelas, drinking and monologuing as only he could.

The game is beautifully crafted, with great depth focused on the people in the game, and the weaponry. A.I. are very challenging and adapt to your movements and tactics, to the point of being almost ridiculous. Make no mistake, you WILL die when you play this game, it's inevitable. The guns are by far the most detailed i've ever seen outside of a FPS. When wielding pistols, it goes as far as to actually see the slides kicking back and ejecting the last used bullet's casing.

From a style perspective, the game feels great to play. The diving and slo-mo effects are top notch, and while it's not always the best approach to the situation, It always feels good to dive into cover away from a group of enemies while unloading your guns. The cherry on top of the slo-mo feature is the "Gun Cam", the special in-game view that activates upon planting a bullet in the last enemy standing in the area. Instantly the camera flips to a more frontal view of Max, showing him unloading as many shots into the last man as the player chooses to fire (every squeeze of the trigger is another shot, which feels fantastic upon finishing the more difficult sequences).
