Wow. I'm really impressed with this range element receptacle.
Last year I had to replace the element receptacle on my Kenmore range, so I went to the local Home Depot and purchased a receptacle kit for about thirteen USD ($13). The kit I bought from Home Depot was twice the price of this amazon one, did not come with a screw, and worked well for a while before shorting out (read: a big, happy blue spark flew from the range at me after a year). A couple days ago, I decided to buy *this* Maytag Surface Element Receptacle Kit to replace it.
I only just installed this new receptacle, so I can't say if it will or will not last, but it sure as hell looks/feels like it'll last longer than the store-bought receptacle. And at half the price, I'm lovin' it.
* Sturdy construction. The element slides deep into the receptacle, and it grabs on tight.
* Comes with everything you need and more: simple & clear instructions, a new screw, 2 metal brackets (I guess to fit 2 different types of ranges; no problems with my Kenmore range), terminals to contact range element & wire, 2 wire nuts, the plastic receptacle itself, and (bonus!) 2 heat-shrink tubes.
* Super easy to install following instructions. No electrical tape necessary.
* The wire from the terminals wasn't very long, but it worked fine for me.
Will buy again if another receptacle fails me.
