There is much more here than meets the eye in this popular studio release. It sounds all too good and her voice sounds just a sgood when she was younger..recent reviewers have said her dancing on tour is outstanding..concerts..the live show..but the studio compared to the live sound..which do you prefer on cd..the studio with its mixes screening out..perfecting here and there with all the technical wizardry..those of us who matured under madonna's wings..and where will she carry us..was there ever a singer who tried to transform our culture with those ideas and if you want to see those old ideas check out her "immaculate" album..all those hits from the "papa dont preach" days and we never talk about lyrics and titles of songs and themes..usually sound and voice and the arousal a females voice causes..do we ever actually listen to the words even in Peter Townsends or any musician(I mention him since he recently penned an auto)music-lyrics..sounds-dance..=song..and that what we have a songer as these songs suggest..gone wild/addicted/give me all/some girls/sinner/masterpiece/falling free....the earlier madonna trying to find her own unique mDNA..as here..among all the technology and ways we must fit in what makes the I apart..transforming herself and not following the rules but finding herself..from the parties and addicted phase..and seeing the faults the sinner..and the hanging religious figures from youth.."hanging' as the song says..what a downer..as a youngster one of my favourite singers there's the song..the music..the dance..all those gaudy youthful excressences seen in videos..she's a much better performer now than in her youth..looking for something "falling free"..words words words..images..music we experience it as one..here in the music...thats my experience of her..and the CD is great one of her best..and there's so much there..in my young days more of an image for girls but we all seem to enjoy her..I did..and we must all find our own dna which only we have and try our best to see MDNA..I love words..listen and youll enjoy the cd much better especially if you know the old repackaged as she is here...RECOMMENDEDRead more ›
Most of Madonna's recordings on vinyl have left me a little cold the recent re-issue of Like a Prayer was just that a re-issue not re-mastered which it should be to remove false ceilings and floors. This recording however is well done from start to finish. Good dynamic sound nice highs and lows. Finally good quality vinyl quiet and a pleasure to listen to.
MDNA is Madonna's 12th studio album. It debut at Number 1 on Billboard 200, selling 359,000 copies. This is her 8th Number 1 album, just one behind the all time leader Barbra Streisand with 9. In UK, she has passed Elvis Presley with the most Number 1 album (12). This is quite an achievement, considering Madonna has been around since 1982. Amazing longevity in popularity!
MEANING OF MDNA: When discussing the album on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Madonna explained that the album's title is a triple entendre, representing both her name and "Madonna DNA." She also implied that it's also a reference to the drug MDMA, or ecstasy, which provides "euphoric feelings of love." It was rightly condemned by Lucy Dawe, a spokesperson for the anti-drugs campaign group Cannabis Skunk Sense. She told The Sun newspaper that Madonna's choice of album title was "an ill advised decision." For me, I almost confused myself with my credit card MBNA...
CONTENTS: MDNA finds Madonna once again in charge and apparently motivated, cowriting and coproducing every track -- and this time, the co-credits aren't just cosmetic. It's her best album since "Ray of Light" in 1998, an album that balanced introspection and pop dazzle in collaboration with U.K. electronic artist William Orbit.
This set has 12 songs! The song "Give me All Your Luvin'" debut at the Super Bowl half time show. It peaked at Number 10 on Billboard Hot 100, becoming Madonna's 38th top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, extending her record as the artist with most top-ten singles in the chart history. But, Madonna's legend on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart grows this week, as "Give Me All Your Luvin'," featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., rises 2-1 to become her 41st leader on the list. She pulls further ahead of runner-up Janet Jackson, who's banked 19 toppers. "Girl Gone Wild" bounds 46-20 as the chart's Greatest Gainer, indicating potential for the track to become Madonna's 42nd No. 1 on the tally within weeks.
French techno maven Martin Solveig produced "Give Me All Your Luvin'". I still have fond memories of the song from 2011 "Hello" by Martin Solveig and the Dragonettes. Like few Madonna albums in the last decade, the album has an emotional center, informed by the latest upheaval in her personal life. In 1998 for "Ray of Light," it was the birth of her first child that coloured that album's more open tone. On "MDNA," it's the dissolution of her marriage to movie director Guy Ritchie.
SOUND: One word: FANTASTIC! The audio was very well remastered, showcasing Madonna's sweet voice, with clear, crisp instrumental backing tracks. Very well done. (5/5)

MDNA TOUR: MDNA Tour is set to begin on May 29 in Tel Aviv, Israel and end in Australia in early 2013. It will mark her biggest tour yet with 90 shows and will include her first concerts in Australia in nearly 20 years.
In my review of her most recent Sweet And Sticky Tour (blu ray)(my review found elsewhere), I found Madonna was simply outstanding: she can dance, she can sing and she can control the audience at the palm of her hand...a true showman and an icon. I am sure that her MDNA tour will be even more exciting, confirming her place as our Queen of Pop!
A gentle reminder: Madonna's Evita (blu ray) will be released on June 19, 2012. Pre-order now before the price goes up.
Finally, there is also a Deluxe Edition with 2 discs and 17 songs. At one point, the Deluxe Edition was actually cheaper than the regular set. But good things do not last long. Now the Deluxe Edition is back to the higher price. At any rate, the above regular set is very highly recommended. I hope the above review is helpful to you.Read more ›
